You have a film that is billed and marketed as integral to a 10 year franchise, and another film that is connected one other film. Are you really comparing the two? Whether one is "Better" or the other "Made more money" shouldn't be the topic. Did you like either film, and why?
I am an engineer. Stats matter far more to me than feelings.

I am more of a fan of box office numbers than I am of movies. It's kind of like watching baseball for the stats.

Not dissimilar but not the same either? Sports seems to have a more direct approach; it's up to solely the players and the moves that make or break a game. A movie plot can be pure cow plop and still rake in a ton of money because of the acting, visual effects, soundtrack, etc. Or it can be intellectually deep, thought provoking and original but doesn't pique the interest of enough people. Or somewhere in between.

It’s almost clever. Pretend to be woke because that’s how they think liberals think. But the end goal is to just get rid of the scary lady who attacked all men by saying we should have more female movie reviewers.

Good thing that’s not how Marvel works. Hopefully it’ll backfire and we get two Captain Marvels since that’s already been setup. Keep Brie and give us another female hero to join her. :)

Monica could do it or her daughter who would be older. They could even add Ms. Marvel using Kamala Khan. She might be fun to team up with Spider-Man since they’re around the same age.

Not only has he set up Monica Rambeau as Photon, Kevin Feige has also heavily implied that he wants to spin-off Kamala Khan as Ms Marvel out of the Carol Danvers legacy.
I hope that when the Fantastic Four show up, they keep Johnny around Peter’s age, having all the teenager heroes together could be fun. The Ultimate line did a comic of their younger characters as the new Ultimates (their Avengers). It was Miles as Spider-Man, Black Widow (Ultimate Spider-Woman who is Peter’s clone), Kitty Pride, Cloak and Dagger, and new character who could generate explosions. It was fun.

Tessa Thompson is bi and Valkyrie is supposed to be bi, she had a scene depicting it that was cut from Thor Ragnorak.
it was heavily implied in cutscenes from Guardians of the Galaxy vol 2 that Mantis preferred women and was very attracted to Gamora. If I recall correctly, the only part of that that survived was her telling Drax that she didn't even like the "type of thing" that he was.

It’s a shame scenes like that keep getting cut. It would mean to a lot to LGBTQ people and help humanize them to everyone else. Especially such likable characters like Mantis or Valkyrie.

Feige seems to have plans on top of plans.
Even his plans have plans. ;)

Yeah, and it's bad optics that they keep cutting them out. One instance for actual time restraints might be understandable, but multiple times? It's one of the few major missteps the MCU has done.

I thought Brie Larson did a great job as capt Marvel, one of my favorite parts was where she destroyed the battleship and her line ''I don't have to prove anything'' when she defeatd Yon Rogg

I thought she did great as well, but I do think the writing had this rhythm going where she'd sort of break out of her 'veers' issues and then fall back into them again. I don't think that was a bad idea and it worked as a structure for the movie, but I do feel like they kept it going too long and it kind of stepped on the climax of the movie a bit. For me, the greatest part of the movie is the 'I'm just a girl' fight, because that's the moment where she truly becomes herself and really has fun with who she is. Also, the battleship stuff was pretty to look at, but felt less like a victory and more like a victory lap, which made it seem not so important.

Brie Larson was my favorite part of Captain Marvel.

So I'm dumbfounded to read about recasting petitions today. The whole idea seems more than a little pathetic, for a studio no doubt having poured concrete around said casting. But the criticism I read about Brie's handling of the character was the opposite of my reaction, I found the portrayal she gave completely matched her character. The observations she 'looked bored' or that she 'phoned in' her performance don't hold up - not every character has to be loudly chanting, swinging their arms, chugging beer etc at all times to be perceived as genuine.

Having seen Captain Marvel with no expectations going in, I loved the interpretation of her character. Hope to see more Brie Larson as Captain Marvel in the future.

I think the people behind the petition are MRAs who are still offended by Brie's request to be interviewed by someone who isn't a white male...
