Surely something good happened to you today

Even more good today. Wife and I have agreed to replace the faulty washing machine, with a dishwasher! Just need to find some way to pay for it.

Even better than that. Left to my own devices, I can have bacon grill for breakfast!

Last night I chatted with Adobe support to see if I could temporarily cancel my 1-year subscriptions to Creative Cloud and Captivate so I could get them back on track with when I get paid rather than the day before. While my Creative Cloud subscription is now a couple of days even earlier than it was rather than a couple of days after what it currently is, I'm getting three free months so I'll make sure I have money in my account for the next bill, which is July 31. :)

And Captivate is now on the 10th of the month rather than the 3rd.

I got finally got to the laundrette today, with eleven large bags of clothes. That’ll cost a pretty penny when it comes back.

Upside of no washing machine: No noise, no washing out to dry, no heating on when it’s not cold. No ironing. Space available for a dishwasher.

Downside:

I took my mom to an eye appointment that was supposed to last a couple of hours or so. She saw that my neck was in pain while we were waiting so she reminded me there was a grocery store across the freeway. I went there, half-assed looked for already-frozen icepacks but could not find any. So I went to the pharmacy and asked if there were any, anywhere in the store. She sized me up, walked about five steps behind her, opened a fridge, and showed me an icepack. I said, great! How much? She told me I could just have it.

It was one of those hard, almost-infinitely reusable kinds, too!

Today I exited the ketogenic diet after being on it since the beginning of the year. It was 4 months of hunger pangs, lack of energy, shakiness, vitamin deficiencies, and general crabbiness. But it also rid me of 35 pounds that I really needed to lose, about 1/6 of my total weight. Right now I weigh about the same as I did fifteen years ago. Receiving a lot of compliments from people and discovering clothes hanging up in the closet that I can actually wear again.

I indulged a little this evening at Olive Garden, but I'm looking carefully at what I'm eating from now on — something healthier than my previous eating habits. Hopefully I don't get the weight back.

At the beginning of next year I'll do something similar and see what I can achieve again. I want to lose another 15 years. :techman:

Drove all the way downtown for a doctor's appointment, only to find that they couldn't do the blood test that day (I need to fast for it, daggnabbit), so I'll have to come back later. They scheduled a new appointment for next month. BUT, on the plus side, my blood pressure was very low, which is good, and they're starting me on a new pain medicine, since the last wasn't working for me. And the biggest news (for me): I lost 7 lbs. OK, it's like a 1.2 pounds a month, but I've never lost weight in my ENTIRE life, so I'm counting it as a win.

I've just saved myself endless hours of scrolling and scrolling to get to tops and bottoms of pages. I added two shortcuts to two of the buttons on my MMPO mouse for use in Chrome. :)

My wheel finger was getting tired!
