Surely something good happened to you today

Yes, believe it or not, one good thing actually did happen today.

Apparently, "unicorn Oreos" are now a thing. And they are delicious! :D
Just Googled. Am home and could try making them. Not sure how many would make it to the final product lol.

Someone broke into my garage but didn't steel my or my daughters' motorcycles. They even locked the doors back up. So far nothing is missing.

So bad, but oddly good.

Seems like a dare... If they locked the doors and didn't steal anything, how do you know they broke in? Did they sweep the floor?:D

Garage power cord was disabled from the ceiling, the garage door itself was physically locked and the side door was used as an exit point. None of us use those and it would have required a stepping stool at least to remove the power cable, which I don't have in there.

Well, then it's a complete mystery. I'd check if they didn't put a listening device or something like that if I were you. If you were in a movie or a series, it would be part of a larger plan, like in a Holmes story I read where someone worked at a place for a salary extremely low and was in fact with the help of his friends digging a tunnel toward the bank that was across the street from the cellar of that place.

Yeah. Had to get to work today and the garage is detached from the property, the whole reason I was in there in the first place but I'm taking a good look at things when I get home.

I started my job on Wednesday, 20th. In March.

So they don't they give advances:(?

I know with the standard payments, timing can be tricky as you need a minimum of two days for the bacs file to go (and lead time on top of that for proper checking/authorisation) but we try not to leave anyone hanging for a month as we have advance notice that someone is starting and would already have done all the setup.

No advances. You have to perform until you get your money. Our business is helping people getting into job. Even sick and lazy people. Mostly temp work. Sometimes they send slow and incapable people back.
My job is also temp work. I do some health coaching and give advice to people how to apply and to dress and conduct in a job interview.....

Some sick people are so badly in need of money that they'll work anyway but how do you get lazy people to work? I know someone who hasn't worked a day for twenty years!!! Yet he doesn't seem to have any problems to pay his bills... well... I guess winning the lottery did help a little...

As to lazy people: Hartz IV (social benefits) helps some people to feel comfortable in their cozy position. Working hard for little money is discouraging. And some people lack the proper certificates so they have to do menial work. Others are dependent from parents who never kicked their a$$. And others have sad fates as well.

I went to the Post Office and there was NO line ahead of me! (First good something) Then I went to the grocery store and there was only a guy with 2 bags of potatoes ahead of me in line. He was fussing to the clerk about the type of cigarettes he wanted and then he wandered off. She looked at me and my 2 items and motioned me ahead, so little wait time after all. (Second good something) Plus, I got to exchange eye rolls with the lady behind me.
