I fear that you may be right. I don't see how they can price it lower than HBO on a cable provider, but also I don't see how they can offer a good deal without doing so.

It also sounds like there's a pretty good chance at least some of the Fox acquisitions will go up on there too. I read an article yesterday, where Bob Iger said that one of the main reasons they bought Fox was for more content for Disney+. We already know they are pulling every Simspsons ever off of the FX app and website, and putting them on Disney+, and I'm expecting a lot more of Fox's below R rated content to end on there too.
I don't know... I think when Netflix loses content.... think how much Disney content there is at the moment... I think Netflix is the most affected competitor. (And wait until Warner Brothers removes it's content from Netflix....) Apple has barely told people what's gonna be on it, let alone how much it's gonna cost.
It seems as if Swamp Thing's order has been cut to 10 episodes and the DC digital service is in doubt.
The first clause of that sentence is correct, but the second is just people online jumping to conclusions about what it means. Given how well Titans, Doom Patrol, Young Justice, etc. seem to be doing, it's odd that people would freak out about the whole network just because one show had its order cut for unclear reasons.
Of course, how is one defining “doing well”? Certainly Doom Patrol is being received very well. But how many people are paying for the service? How many people have started signing up because of the quality of the shows? That would be an important metric of “doing well” in this business. Are they releasing that information?
Here's the thing; 'Swamp Thing' was already in full production when it's episode order was cut down. The way TV shows are made, that's drastic to say the least. It means someone upstairs, for whatever reason doesn't want any more of this show that they haven't even aired a single episode of.
That either means the show itself is a train-wreck post pilot (because if the pilot was a train wreck, it wouldn't have gotten a full series order at all) of the platform is either shutting down or spending of it is being massively scaled back.
You don't do this to a show simply because some exec has had second thoughts, or some scheduling has been moved around. People are under contract. Money has been spent. Episodes have been shot. It's not too much of a reach to presume that the problem is lack of subscribers since a new platform is always going to struggle to compete when it's a zero-sum market and WB seem to have pumped a LOT of cash into this thing upfront and a sudden, drastic cutting back of expenditure is a fairly reliable sign of damage control.

Another thing that I mentioned in another thread that makes me wonder how well they are doing is the fact that they appear to be putting the shows up for sale on other streaming services just a few weeks after they air. Hulu and Netflix seem to sometimes take over a year to finally release their stuff outside of the service, so it seems odd they would be so quick to start selling them outside of DCU.
I stand by my initial assumption on the previous page that the deleted Virginia Madsen post seemed to indicate that some executive had a beef with this show in particular. (Or maybe multiple executives.)
Because if the alternative is true, and they do start cutting shows and programming on a service like this, that will absolutely not encourage new people to sign up for the service. Nobody is going to jump aboard the sinking ship.
That said, I'd love to see news about them starting to film Stargirl (or whatever show is next), as that would put a lot of minds at ease.
I am STILL waiting for Runaways season 1 to hit dvd, so I can send it to my nieces for them to watch.
They're shooting Season 2 of Titans now, Stargirl is after that.
They've released the first trailer, it's intriguing, but very vague. We don't really hear any dialogue and don't get any kind of idea what the actual story is.
If this was just a teaser I wouldn't give it much thought, but this is supposed to be the trailer for the show, which are usually more detailed than this. When we add on some of the stories floating around about the show, this is a bit concerning.

Okay, the first episode might be the best of the three streaming series so far. Solid horror tone.
