Considering Matt Ryan joins LoT as a regular the coming season, what do you think are the chances of John Constantine appearing in this show?

I get that, but with Swamp Thing they've mainly gone for something campy. Especially Return of Swamp Thing which has a wacky subplot about two kids trying to get photos of Swamp Thing and a scene where ST and Abby eating a branch from ST's crotch and having a trippy sex scene. So we can do better. I'd actually love to see a Swamp Thing series get into the weirder aspects like the Green and the idea of previous Swamp Things. Which could be fun for a cameo. The actor who played Swamp Thing in the suit died a few years ago, but Ray Wise who played Alec in the original movie is still alive and seems like the kind of guy who would do that. Really we need more Ray Wise in these troubling times.

You are not alone. Every time I see a headline about a "Metropolis" TV series, my brain instantly goes to Rotwang and the Robotrix.

Swamp Thing could be a lot of fun, but I don't understand Metropolis at all.

A solo Lois Lane series could be terrific. After all, as she's been envisioned from the Reeve movies onward, Lois was already a legend in her field before she ever met Clark Kent. So the story of her pre-Superman career as a fearless investigative reporter could be cool, in the vein of Brenda Starr or the real-life journalist/adventuress Nellie Bly. But the premise they've proposed, with Lois and Lex Luthor investigating Wall of Weird-style stuff, seems ill-conceived and derivative. Hopefully the "redevelopment" will take it in a different direction.

I'm not sure if this is purely a coincidence or not, but they are doing a big sale on the digital and e-book versions of Scott Snyder's DC comics, including his run on Swamp Thing.

Considering that the TV show is probably more than a year away, I'd guess it has more to do with the start of Snyder's run on Justice League.

Oh yeah, I forgot he was doing JL.
I just got and flipped through the Snyder Swamp Thing book, and that is some freaky looking shit. It'll be interesting to see if any of that kind of stuff makes it into the show.

Slightly concerning news today regarding Swamp Thing.

    here's a decent article:
    https://www.slashfilm.com/swamp-thing-production-wraps-early/

Apparently production shut down early, and the show is being cut from 13 episodes down to 10 episodes, much to the surprise of just about everyone working on the show. Multiple reports say that episode 10 is being rewritten so it has more of a conclusion to the story.

I've seen one or two articles today suggest that this might bode ill for DC's streaming service in general, but I wouldn't put much faith in that. It seems way too early to pull the plug on a new experiment like that. If you want to build something like that, you've got to give it time.

A more believable theory could be formed after reading Virginia Madsen's post, which could perhaps imply that an executive decision was made by some executive or the other that didn't like the direction the show was taking. (Although you might have to use your imagination as much as I did if you want to read that much into it.)

Even if DC Universe would not pay for itself, they'd just wait for the Warner Media streaming service launches and turn DCU into an added package.

How can DC streaming compete with Disney+ which gives you Marvel AND Star Wars oh yeah and also freaking Disney, oh yeah and also it's $7/month! It's pretty much game over for these smaller services.

Even before the pricing of Disney+ was officially released, there have been rumors that DC Universe, the new Criterion streaming service and HBO Now will all be rolled into Warner's upcoming streaming service. If that's true it would be a hell of a deal, depending on where their pricing is at.

If they make HBO Now $7/month and ADD stuff to it I will be doing a happy dance for sure.

This is what I'm assuming is going to happen. it's one of the reasons I'm waiting to get DC Universe. While I've heard great things about Doom Patrol, I'm not paying a streaming service for one show. If the comics portion was better handled--like Marvel Unlimited, then, maybe.

A WarnerMedia package would be quite something.

For some reason I'm afraid that a Warner Everything service would be priced way too high. Like $30 or $40 a month.

I think they'd have to offer a similar price to Netflix or Hulu if they wanted to be competitive.
