Back when I used to actually buy mayo, it was always Kraft Real Mayonnaise. I don’t even know if they still make it.

I’ve heard stories over the years that Americans actually put mayo on french fries. Is that really a thing, or is that just a tale you tell to trick gullible Canadians?

I discovered that sometime in the 90s, and yes, it's a real thing. I like to mix ketchup and mayo, one puddle of each, and double-dip my fries. First in the mayo and then in the ketchup. Mmmmmmm...

And Kraft still makes Real Mayonnaise. I guess I don't like it as much as the Hellmann's. I'm not liking many Kraft products lately other than their Mac 'n' Cheese (Kraft Dinners, elsewhere).

Speak for yourself! My mom has a bunch of gnomes. I went to a language camp that had tons of gnomes, and I have a bunch of friends with gnomes. I'd love some, myself. I just haven't gotten any yet.

I'm not liking many Kraft products lately other than their Mac 'n' Cheese (Kraft Dinners, elsewhere).

Ah, KD, a Canadian dinner classic! Used to love that as a child. It’s rare, but I will still on occasion eat that for the nostalgia (because it certainly isn’t for the nutritional value! ) Shame they toned down the DayGlo “cheese”, though...

Something I haven’t seen for years is Canadian steak. It used be in the freezer section, lots of thin frozen circles of meat separated by a sheet of grease proof paper.

Interesting phenomena. When I shower early in the morning it wakes me up. When I shower in midday it makes me drowsy. Phisiological, psychological or both?

Funny thing... I have no idea what you’re talking about! Our steak is just... steak.

Must be a marketing thing, similar to how other countries call back bacon “Canadian bacon”. Someone out there seems to think we *really* like cutting our meat into circles!!

As certain presidential steaks (zhem biggliest stakes ever) are not for sale anymore and Canada is far abroad some Amaricans might think Canadian steaks are a bit starved

I hate when people say someone successful had a "meteoric rise. " I know it's supposed to refer to " fast and bright" but it just sounds stupid.

Meteors do not rise; they rather spectacularly crash and burn, and are often obliterated.

In France, "meteorism" (with the French spelling "météorisme") refers to excessive flatulence which is why "meteoric rise" always gets a chuckle out of me.

The Masters TV coverage is moved up to 9:00 a.m. Eastern time for the final round tomorrow due to the potential for nasty weather. They will tee off in threesomes rather than pairs and use both the first and ninth tees to speed up play. One hell of a leaderboard - a lot of big names and major championship winners near the top.
