I just finished watching all 6 seasons. Did it in a rush before they left Netflix. I got to say that might be one of my most favorite shows, cartoon in particular around now. Maybe my most favorite in terms of just action knocking Stargate shows from 1st place. Some of the stuff felt like edge of the seat type of stuff, at least to me.

My favorite stuff was with Nips I think was her name and the developement of clones. What happens to the clones is pretty tragic. Used by both sides when you think about who are already kind of slaves who will even have it worst when they loose their free will. To me the show sort of redeems the prequels and I even liked Anakain in this show. Jar Jar was still terrible but he wasn't in much of the episodes so it wasn't a big deal.

This show is considered canon isn't it? I heard this was but not the other clone wars show which was those 15 minute shorts that came out before this. When it comes to movies and this my list of favorite, Star Wars now goes like this.

    1 Star Wars
    2 Empire Strikes Back
    3 Return of the Jedi
    4 The Force Awaken
5 The Clone Wars movie and cartoon series that came from it.
    6 Revenge of the Sith
    7 Rogue One
    8 Solo
    9 Attack of the Clones
    10 The Last Jedi
    11 Phantom Menace
12 Those kid Ewok movies from when I was a kid. Plus the cartoon which I did watch.

The old Clone Wars micro-series is in a bit of a weird place. For a while there during TCW's early seasons it looked like they had half an eye towards at least some version of the events of the micro-series having indeed taken place, but not exactly... And yet to this day I think the micro-series is the only version of certain events we have; mostly Ventress's introduction & Anakin's knighting.
Indeed in the latter case, the ceremony as depicted seems to have been referenced in Rebels, so, who knows?

But yeah, TCW itself was a George Lucas joint, therefore it was always considered canon, even before the buyout.

I love TCW. While there are very good episodes in every season, the ending of S5 was nothing short of outstanding. I really can't praise it enough.

I also thoroughly enjoyed the micro-series. It has a few excellent episodes, including Chapters 6 & 7, introducing Ventress in the arena and the followup when she gets her red lightsabers. The episodes taking place on Ilum are also excellent (14-16, I think), where Barriss Offee is introduced.

From what I recall, the production team on TCW decided that the first season on Clone Wars took place before their stories and that the last season may or may not take place after their series. The idea was to leave enough opening for the events to happen (more or less). Some events eventually were duplicated, like the war coming to Mon Cala, so the one episode story Clone Wars episode was likely replaced, or technically it could be spliced in to TCW arc on the matter.

Here's a post where I compared the two series:

In short, the broad strokes of the events in the Tartakovsky series' first two seasons may have happened before TCW, but some of the details have been contradicted. The final season, showing a battle that led directly into Revenge of the Sith, was mostly consistent with TCW to date, but I gather it would've been overwritten by the planned Siege of Mandalore arc, which it looks like they might be doing in the revival season coming up.

There's a fan theory that the Tartakovsky series might represent some sort of in-universe propaganda films or historical fiction, based on true events but embellishing or reworking the details.

Are you telling me we are going to get another season of "The Clone Wars?" If so that sounds great. Will Lucas have something to do with it or how involved was he with the show to be exact? I assume their must have been more of a showrunner working underneath him on the series.

Dave Filoni was the showrunner on TCW, and he's in charge of the new season. This is basically completing episodes that were unfinished or planned when the show was cancelled.

That is assumed, yes. The story is suppose to get to the Siege of Mandalore, which was referenced in novels and Star Wars: Rebels. Its suppose to take place round the same time as the events of Revenge of the Sith. Starting before the opening of said film (since Obi-wan and Anakin are present at the start) and ended afterward (post-Order 66), with most of the focus on Ashoka and Captain Rex.
