New books on amazon

Would they be seeding stuff like that in a random novel? This isn't Star Wars, where that kind of stuff has close ties to everything.
Dayton Ward indicated he was aware of the Picard show while writing Available Light due out a few weeks from now. No reason why David Mack couldn't have similar knowledge while writing Collateral Damage, which is due out in the same quarter as Picard Show's expected premiere date.

Seems to be so. Wonder why the long delay and if there's still a market for the Shatner-verse?
I suspect it's a glitch, like those old Kelvin universe novels occasionally cropping up on Amazon, but I would totally buy another Shatnerverse academy book.

Being aware of its existence is not the same as being in the loop regarding its story content. I can't speak for Dayton, but I know that even after many recent conversations with Kirsten Beyer, I know practically nothing specific about the new series.

Knowing the contents of the Picard show is irrelevant I suspect since this is a different continuity to that.

That's not really how this works. The books will have to be consistent with the Picard show once we know what it's about.

They're continuing a storyline that's incompatible with current ongoing TV Trek? That's a first, I believe.
Swordhunt springs to mind.

I don't know when David Mack wrote the book, but it may have already passed approvals before Discovery's storyline was finalized (or at least, before they told the licensing folk about it).

Licensing sees the proposal (and makes comments) as well as the final draft.

Well, so that "Untitled STV" book on Amazon USA/ Canada which first had a publication date of 11/26/19 now is listed as coming out 1/14/20, just fyi.
