I've been wearing a body shaper lately ... it's working really well for me, especially holding my tummy in. My leggings and tights are fitting better, and just generally I feel better about my appearance.

I call these Bridget Jones pants. Since I switched from tampons to a moon cup, those have become unnecessary. Join me, menstruating ladies, and be free! :D

^^ don't care too much about my body shape these days but do wish I'd thought of them when I did lol! I do wear a light shaper thingy/weight belt around my middle when I do housework or yard-work and it helps with back pain and the contact comfort and add'l warmth around my midsection is a helpful factor.

Lucky you. No cups during my time. I'd have been all over that. I mean I started wearing tampons my second period.

I started using tampons a year after my first period. I used them for years until I went on birth control which made my periods light enough just for a liner. Then when I went off birth control I switched back and forth between pads and tampons.

Recently, my flow is mega heavy that the super plus absorption ones I soak within an hour. I just use the mattress sized pads.

I’ve been curious about the diva cups. I’ve tried the Instead cups which were a hit/miss for me.

^maybe let your gyno know your flow has gotten really heavy? It could be indicative of a change in your health.

What gets me is that they had them until about 2 years before I started. I remember the ads. Then boom, gone. *grr*

Have only heard of them this past decade or so. But if they were a thing when we were kids- well. Feel like I’ve been a little robbed.

They sound like a good idea =) I'm not sure if it makes any sense to switch to one, though. By Christmas I should be over that problem for the rest of my life (YAY!!)
LOL have you ever imagined what a drama men would make of it if they'd bleed every month? My brother got 4 weeks sick leave because he had an abscess on his bottom - a woman in the same situation would have gone to work and simply brought a soft cushion. :D

Gawds yes. If men menstruated there would be monthly supply delivery service via drones and every office would have warm room with soothing sounds and heating pads and vibrating chaises. Nations would go to war at the suggestion of state control over someone’s body.

And we would get to make jokes about their bitchiness, à la, "Oh honey, is it that time of the month? MEOW!"

dammit. Six months free and woke up this morning having to change the sheets. It was nice and it’ll stop again eventually for good but I really enjoyed the *not messy* part of it all.

It does explain the lower back pain and the desire to strangle everyone who made eye contact with me the last two days lol.

Wish I had done Kegel exercises in my youth, because my bladder has dropped. I blame it on giving birth to 3 kids with big heads. ;)

Have taken to wearing liners everyday because of that. Heaven forbid I sneeze.

    Yep. Liners rule.

After the first kid, I was never the same. I got the cough/sneeze issue. And I was only 25! :wah:

I blame modern architecture! In the good old times the bathroom wasn't that far a trip from the bedroom. On the other hand: it keeps me fit - I can run pretty fast for my age :D
Welcome to the club! I always have a bar of ox-gall soap handy for such cases - works miracles even on old stains. And there's an emergency stash of tampons in every single pocket, bag or drawer I possess, both at work and at home because, unfortunately, I get no belly ache in advance. A little warning would really be nice.

Funny the Boy Scout motto is “Be prepared” because what girl doesn’t learn to plan for all kind of contingencies?

Also think that more female architects would mean buildings better planned to suit the needs of everyone.

Had my first peanut at 22 so was surprised and irritated to discover I was turning into my mother at such a young age. I feel badly for all the times we’d tease her about having to run to the bathroom so often. The older I get the more I appreciate my mom. She’s amazing.

Yes, moms are phenomenal! I'm not half the woman my mother was, especially in the housework department.
