Still going with Zora. Maybe Burnham programmed an early proto-version of Zora and that's who Zora needs to interface with. Spoiler Zora may have access to all of Airiam's uploaded memories and may actually have helped use that to evolve to the state we saw her in.
Spoiler After Ep. 9 - "Project Deadalus" I'm 100% going with Arium in some form. It may not be the Arium from 'our' timeline; but it's DEFINITELY Arium
I know a couple of people are saying Airiam now, but in my mind, she just got knocked down quite a few rungs in the Red Angel Pool.
I don't think there's any chance of it being Burnham. That's the first thing just about everyone thought of, so you just don't make it be the most obvious person.
One thing I've thought of but haven't brought up yet is that there's a very practical argument against Zora: she was introduced in supplemental content that a good chunk of the audience doesn't have access to. She has otherwise had zero exposure in the series proper.
Moderators: could the two "whose the Red Angel" threads be merged? seems redundant. anyway to the matter at hand: I present evidence. Spoiler The best image of the Red Angel suit so far is actually the stylized drawings from the opening credits. Since they seem to have some importance. So far details of drawings like the chair, the phaser, and the thruster suit seem to be accurate to what is shown on screen. So .. this is what Red Angel looks like, at least the suit bit. It's clearly not the thruster suit, nor does it look like and previously shown space suit from Trek. Could it be the current eva suits? It's hard to always get a good image because they don't get worn a lot and the helmets come off early, but this is a decent shot of the front and side profile of the helmets. Very distinctive profile for the helmet and a kind of butterfly like shape on the breastplate. Nope. It's not that either. And it's also not Airiam's head. That goes without saying. On the side of Red Angel's hemet however there is a very distinct pattern, a kind of diamont or rhombic pattern split horizontally at each diamond. That's kind of distinctive. Where have I seen that before. So far from the time period that we've told the altered probe came from we've seen very little specific TO that time period, apart from the squid probe thingy, Enterprise J (a possible continuity that may no longer exist) and Craft's stolen Vedraysh ship.. Again, difficult to see but the Vedraysh pod also has the same pattern along the sides of the "wings" nearest the middle fuselage section and running past the window "Down" towards the "bow" (I have no idea what is zenith or nadir on this thing). But that's the pattern. Is Red Angel Vedraysh, or like Craft is she using stolen hardware of the Vedraysh? I think we're coming near an answer now. It's either Zora, or some other version of Airiam, but at the very list Zora is involved.
Control is out there! It can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. Time for Burnham to get her Angel/Jeep suit on and head for the hills so she can send Ash back to save her and Spock and get killed. The Red Angel is Harlan Ellison and he's going to come back and kill them all.
My money is on the Red Angel being either Maggie Simpson, Kristin Shepard or one of the wayans brothers in some twisted sci fi version of 'white girls'
I provided my rationale for the differentiation on the first page of this thread. Bolding the most relevant parts. Everything wasn't so consolidated on TrekBBS before.
I think you're correct, given... Spoiler ... the enormous character background that was given in the episode. I think Zora is actually Ariam. Something happens in the future to fuse them. [
I am leaning toward airiam/zora too. Airiam memories saved on Discovery computer will evolve into Zora.
