it was. and I'm pretty sure he reused his concept for the never before seen Enterprise bathroom (okay, that's not necessarily true, but yeah, the war room was Ken Adams)

Seems to me that's quite a big spoiler that has probably upset a lot of people (including me). It was probably obvious they'd do something like that anyway, but still... Try to be considerate of others before you post.

Yeah, don't enter a thread that has the red SPOILER banner in the title and bitch about spoilers. You were warned, you should have known what to expect.

I will say, I was expecting something like this. My theory is that the Red Angel will show the characters their future. Pike will see his injury, Spock will see his death in TWOK, and Michael will see something that will be featured in the third season.

I've been in this thread since the beginning. The spoilers, up to this point, have been:

    1. We'll see the Enterprise bridge, and it's faithful to the original but updated.
    2. The turbolift funhouse was done after the fact and not originally planned.
    3. Various other tidbits related to production and staff.

They don't say anything about upcoming storylines or events in the show (everyone already knew we'd see the E-bridge). This latest one seems very different. And even though the thread title has "Spoilers" in it, you can still have the courtesy to hide something big like that.

So your upset over the revelation that Pike's injury that's been know to fandom for fifty years will be seen, but knowing that Disco's being abandoned doesn't bother you at all? Got it.

Regardless, if spoilers bother you, you shouldn't enter a thread labeled SPOILERS. It's a two-way street, and you do have a responsibility to avoid spoilers yourself if that bothers you. If you see a spoiler in a thread labeled SPOILERS that's your fault, not the person posting the forewarned spoilers.

Considering that happens 10 years in ST: D's future, I hope that's not the case, unless they do a quick 'Flash Forward' of some type. The accident where Pike goes in saving many Cadets lives but being exposed to horrible radiation doesn't occur until circa 2266 (per TOS S1 - "The Menagerie (Part I)" .

All we know is that Spock saw the future, the Red Angel is probably from the future, and Georgiou knows about the future up through "The Tholian Web". So all of them can know what will happen to Pike.

    Possessed Ariam might know too.

Well, we don't know what happened - we only know what the heroes were told happened. We never saw a cadet who would have been saved by Pike, say, and we certainly didn't get to point a psychotricorder at him or her to verify the claim.

But can we wiggle out of when it happened? If Pike was claimed to be sailing with cadets, he probably wasn't claimed to have been on an eight-year mission to the unknown from 2258 to 2266 (while he in fact was confined to a wheelchair all that time, recovering from the wounds of having flown too close to the Sun in that suit).

Hoity, does the bridge take inspiration from this concept?

That's a bummer. But still...can't wait to see what that bridge is going to look like.

The Red Angel situ involves time travel. Spock remembers the future. Even if Pike doesn't get mangled for 10 years doesn't mean they can't show it, in a flashforward if nothing else.

IDK - I'd hate that only because it would mean Spock knew it was going to happen and said nothing, or somehow was formulating a plan for those 10 years and saying nothing, etc.

I enjoyed the subtext "If Memory Serves" already adds to both "The Cage" and the Spock/Pike situation in "The Menagerie"; but IMO there' a point where you can take things to far - and such a 'flash forward' would be too far IMO.

I‘m not sure I understand: Have you yourself seen images of the Enterprise bridge set or did your friends who are working on the show just describe it to you, @Hoity Toity?

Also, Rebecca Romjin has said that she's seen the DSC Enterprise bridge and was visibly emotional (in a good way) over it. And this is someone who grew up watching TOS (with her mother). If RR approves of the set, I'm prepared to believe her.

She spilled nothing. She didn't describe what the bridge was like, she only said that she HAD seen it.

She didn't spill anything really. I think she said in an interview that she was on a set that made her tear up, but she couldn't talk about it. <--- And that was it.

If you didn’t know it was the original Enterprise bridge, would you be able to recognize it as such? (Versus any other starship bridge.)

IDK - all through the run up to the question: "What's going to happen in S2...like will we see Spock?"

Kurtzman was all: "They've already recast the character once and Zachary Quinto did a good job; so no, we wouldn't be recasting the character again..."

And lo and behold, and nearly right out of the gate once ST: D S2 production began suddenly it's: "Ethan Peck cast as Mr. Spock..."

So, yeah, I don't put much stock in denials when it comes from ST: D production staff. ;)
