Sounds like a heretofore undiscovered circle of Hell. A little Bizarro goes a long way. What about Bizaro Superman? Has there ever been a comic series told from his perspective? I think he is a villain but that would also be a fun idea for a show.
I think they're limited in how much they can use Superman, and can't use Batman at all, so they kind of had no choice.I doubt they'll go for Superman. Sofar, CW hasn't gone for the obvious heroes to headline shows, except for maybe Flash. Instead of Superman, Supergirl. Instead of Batman, Batwoman. The Legends, for example.
No, if there will be a new CW show besides Batwoman, it's not going to be one of the obvious three: Batman, Superman, Wonderwoman.
Here you go. And it's not Bizarro Superman, just Bizarro. What about Bizaro Superman? Has there ever been a comic series told from his perspective? I think he is a villain but that would also be a fun idea for a show. One told from the bad guys point -of-view.

As much as I love Superman I agree with your point. I'd rather see a show exploring the mystical side of the DC Universe. Maybe a Zatanna or Doctor Fate series. With Supergirl already tackling a lot of characters and story lines from the Superman comics, doing a Superman show at this point would feel kind of redundant.
Only if the Berlanti group had nothing to do with it. I cannot imagine all that was the best of the Spectre (which was fantastic in his 60s and 70s versions) handled by Berlanti's production company.
A CW Arrowverse Superman show could be about the Earth 1 Superman's debut & subsequent career.
Which would be give us something new compared to what we've had in my lifetime (Reeveverse/Returns, L&C, Smallville, DCEU, Supergirl) how exactly?
You raise an interesting question. Some of the examples you give - Smallville & Supergirl do not deal with the Man of Steel himself. All but one of the remaining examples are films/film series and L & C hails from a different era. This would be a chance to see a weekly Superman series done in the manner of contemporary superhero drama coupled with present day VFX tech. But in truth I just want to see a Superman TV show. I'd love a Batman one as well.Which would be give us something new compared to what we've had in my lifetime (Reeveverse/Returns, L&C, Smallville, DCEU, Supergirl) how exactly?
Green Hornet?
Hmm, was he in the past? I seem to recall the Green Hornet interacting with Batman. Not DC.

ETA: The comicbook rights are owned by Dynamite Entertainment rather than DC, but I would argue that the Green Hornet is part of the DC universe.

There was also a crossover with the Batman TV series but fair enough. I pushed the green theme too far. Next would have probably been the Jolly Green Giant. Too corny by far.Gotta disagree. The Green Hornet started out as radio show back in 1930s, not as a comic-book character. And DC has never published a GREEN HORNET series. Granted, he guest-starred on the old BATMAN tv series once, but that was just because both shows had the same network and producer. It was a cross-promotional stunt.
As for the crossover comic . . well, Batman has also done one-shot crossovers, by special arrangement, with Captain America and the Hulk, but I'm not sure anyone would argue that they are part of the DC Universe.![]()
While Supergirl is mostly about well... Supergirl... the show keeps cramming in Superman's rogue gallery instead of giving the titular character her own villains.
