    Picard, a positronic scientist, a thief, an EMH, a teenage Romulan, a mercenary, a socially challenged 20something and a former intelligence agent. It sounds a little too Star Trek: Renegades for my liking, but we'll see.

    The positronic scientist fascinates me the most. Will this be some kind of "search for Data"?

    Unlikely but hopefully they finally reveal the true origin of the Borg. I'd also like to see the Borg return. Janeway destroyed the hub in the Delta Quadrant but I wouldn't be surprised if there were more hubs in the Gamma Quadrant and other parts of the galaxy. It would also be nice to have an update on how Cardassia is doing after the Dominion nearly wiped them off their planet. I'd imagine they are trying to rebuild their society.

    He might specialise in positronic brains because they have mass-produced the technology behind data using B4 - he could specialise in it because he *is* an android.

    Well this kinda hints that Picard won't be on a federation ship. Although I don't think they have the balls kept off from a Federation ship I would enjoy this if it would be set entirely on a non federation ship

    Looks pretty interesting. Still processing these characters, but it looks like they're hand-chosen by Picard. He's the wise elder in what otherwise looks like a young group of characters.

    Assuming the leak is genuine, it's possible that not all of the names are final. Some might be placeholders to prevent spoilers. In fact, I hope they are. Otherwise, it seems to be an extremely human-centric cast. There are two definite aliens and one hologram, the rest all seem to be human.

    Provided this is actually real, it sounds like a mix between The Chase and Gambit... neither of which I regard as particularly compelling or standout episodes. Hopefully it'll work, though.

    It looks to me that the K'Bar character is an attempt to get River Tam from Firefly into the series.

    There does seem to be a Firefly feel to several of these. Connie the African-American mercenary pilot sounds similar to Zoe.

    The article claims 20 years since the end of the series. First season was 2364ish, 7th was 2370ish. So, that's about right. Only two years post Hobus event.

    2389 works better than 2399 because it makes the destruction of Romulus feel more immediate. Only two years later, there's still a real urgency about what just happened. At 12 years later, it's more like "Why has Picard been sitting on this so long?" or you wonder "What happened during the other 12 years?"

    With just two years, no one would be wondering what Picard was doing. He commanded the Enterprise until 2387 and it took him two years -- and a lot of work -- to plan out everything afterwards he wants to do now. Pretty straight-forward.

    I hope this is just a bunch of fanwank BS, because this sounds completely uninteresting to me.

    On seeing that all I could think of was: "Oh! The Pain!...The pain! Now get away from me you Bald-headed Booby!" :nyah:;)

    From the article:

    My guesses:

    'Connie' = Zoe from 'Firefly.'

    'Lawrence' = Tom Paris 2.0

    'Starton' = Dr Soong 2.0

    'K'Bar' = a combination of young Spock and Worf

    'Dr. Smith' is basically the EMH 2.0. Someone please call Robert Picardo to reprise his iconic role ;);):beer:

    'Indira' = 24th century equivalent of Discovery's Sylvia Tilly. I see the potential for a future cross-over episode involving the two of them trying to resolve a tech problem ;);)

    'Alana' seems to be inspired from one the Orville's most popular character -- ex-Security Chief Alara Kitan -- except she's older, edgier, and darker than the latter - perhaps shaped by her years of experience within Starfleet Intelligence or (gasp) Section 31....

    These might be real, but there is no way that the names are.

    The pilot is named Connie. Like "take the conn."
    The guy who is a "lethal weapon" is named K'Bar. Like...Kabar. Which is a lethal weapon.
    The guy who techs the tech...is named Starton. Start. On.
    The hologram is named Dr. Smith. Just about the most generic name one can pick.

    These kinds of names are often not real, of course. But yikes, I sure hope those aren't the names.

    On, and the working title is "Drawing Room?" Assuming they mean working title and not code name...it's hard to believe that would ever, ever be the working title.

    I am not buying this, unless trekmovie.com reports it.
