So I decided to go ahead and build side views for the Amaterasu and L'Andromède, considering they're at least available and really interesting designs that evolve beyond the other various 2202 kitbashes. I will update them with other views as they start appearing.
Estimations, based on the Gamilas weaponry, suggests the L'Andeomede is longer than the Andromeda. Estimates come in around 470 meters for the Gamilas style ships over the Andromeda's 444 meter length. The Apollo Norms are 484 meters long, but most of that is their larger overhanging hanger deck on top of the ship. Amaterasu is probably a tiny bit longer due to how its bow is shaped, but they also could have cut her back slightly and just bulked her out a little instead.
I'm just kind of curious why there are so many like-named vessels in the 2202 fleet. There's not much difference between Andromeda and L'Andromède. And then there are the two nearly-identical battleships named Aquarius (one ostensibly experimental), all ships of the AAA line. It really is quite confusing and has caused me some heartburn when compiling these designs.
Someone on the team isn't good at naming ships.

(The above is just to point out a change. I found my list while looking for something else earlier today.)
I had a table top Star Blazers game this previous Saturday. I neglected to bring my camera, so I was unable to document it like previous games.
The Earth fleet was that at Saturn when the Gatlantis battleships started to arrive: 3 Dreadnoughts, 2 patrol cruisers, 12 Kongos, and 21 frigates.
The Comet force started with 9 battleships on the table. The Earth fleet took out 4 of them the first turn.
Three battleships warped in to replace the losses, including a command variant (put back on the original special weapons, and swapped some of the other guns). On that turn the Earth fleet took out 7 battleships. (Earth losses at this point were five frigates). Lots of wave motion guns were fired from the patrol cruisers and frigates)(edited)
Six More battleships warped in. This time they managed to hit Earth ships more often than previously. Only 3 Comet battleships were destroyed this turn. Earth losses included both patrol cruisers and one Dreadnought.
Three battleships warped in to replace the three lost previously, and Earth regained some momentum, but it cost two more Dreadnoughts and a frigate. The Comet force lost five more Battleships, and of the two remaining ones, one had lost its bridges and was effectively a ramming vessel only.
At this point the Twin Deck Carrier arrived with three Medaruusas as escorts. The Earth formation's shifted a bit, but the Quantum Torpedoes from this group took out a few Kongos. The gunnery from the carrier took out a few more and a frigate. The Earth group took out the two remaining battleships to deal with the Carrier's group. The Medaruusa all took damage from gun or wave motion gun fire from frigates. However it was on "off table" wave motion gun shot from Andromeda that damaged the Twin Deck Carrier and destroyed one of the Medaruusas.
Six more Comet battleships warped in at this point (Game was called after it having been eight hours. We did a lot more talking than playing I believe)
The Earth formation had 7 Kongos, and 14 frigates left at the end, with Andromeda and Four Dreadnoughts due to arrive at the end of the next turn. The Comet Empire forces, including the six battleships that arrived at the end of the turn were: 1 Twin Deck Carrier, 2 Medaruusas, and 15 battleships (six on table).
Earth managed to destroy 21 battleships and a Medaruusa.
Earth lost 3 Dreadnoughts, 2 patrol cruisers, five Kongos, and seven frigates.
The frigates are apparently the most annoying things to kill right now. They have only 8 points of shielding and 10 boxes of hull. It takes two to four hits from most Comet weapons to kill one (unless you hit it with a really big gun at close range). They also can put out a lot of damage if they are allowed to get close, and due to them having wave motion guns, they can cause some issues if used in numbers.
The total Gatlantis force was to be 33 regular battleships, 3 command variant battleships, 3 Medaruusa battleships, and the 1 Twin Deck Carrier flagship.
The total Earth force was 21 frigates, 12 Kongo-class battlecruisers, 2 patrol cruisers. 7 Dreadnought-class battleships, and 1 Andromeda heavy battleship.

The official names of the Gamdromedas were very disappointing to me. L'Andromède, seriously? Gamilon takes after German influences, not French. And Andromeda would have a very different name in proper Gamilon.

Also, all the Earth ships in 2199/2202 in general barring the Andromeda carriers were designed by Junichiro Tamamori. So crediting Kobayashi for them isn't accurate.
I don't think these are designed by Kobayashi. We don't yet know their designers however.

Finding high-resolution ortho images of these ships has been exceptionally challenging. Kobayashi's ZZZ-01 Andromeda refit became the main template for all the Andromeda-line pics I posted here:
I stripped the colors, re-colorizing them and, in the case of the carriers, adding pieces from photos of the Bandai carrier kits to the renders. Here is a breakdown of my process. Something I've been meaning to post here since I started this effort:

I wanted you to put that chart here because you did to that work, its in scale, and some of those designs don't get seen often yet.
Bandai really needs to make more model kits of the Gatlantis stuff. The really big stuff is probably a no go unless someone happens to be good at sending in petition requests in Japanese. Especially that monster sized Twin Deck Carrier. Thing is huge. They did make Dommel's battleship in 1/1000th scale, and several other ships from 2199 in the Mecha Colle box scale, and specifically made the Gatlantis battleship in the Mecha Colle scale because the artist and producers of Yamato 2202 wanted to have a updated model of that kit. Because the 1978 model kit for the Comet battleship was fiddly and a pain in the ass to build. The new one has all the lessons Bandai has learned since then in it, and thus takes about 15 minutes to put together, and need no glue. Snap together kits.
These took a friend of mine about four hours to make, and he took a break to check emails, make phone calls, and stuff.

Kobayashi just posts the production design shit on his Twitter. Here's several interviews with him where he talks about the stuff he's designed, as well as the original design orthos for the patrol cruiser, frigate, and the Dreadnought.
It's much easier to tell you the Earth ships Tamamori didn't design. The only Earth ships Kobayashi ever designed was Aquarius, Ginga, the freighter, and Apollo Norm. Some color variations are also his idea, which you can tell by the heavy filigree on them. Everything else, from the 2199 UNCF ships to the 2202 EDF ships was Tamamori.
Also the 2202 Gatlantis ships (Apocalyx, Gostok, and Calakmul) are made by another designer as well, not Kobayashi for future reference. Not sure on his name ATM. He was also the one who did Neu Deusura.

Agreed. However, it’s kind of funny how the uniquely American “Star Blazers” nomenclature has become inexorably tied to the parent Japanese property. It’s the one thing that persists.

Well, at least the introduced the concept (I suspect an incredible revolutionary concept for the Japanese mentality) that dying is not always the best answers for one's wrongdoings and sometimes you have to, you know, live with the consequences of your mistakes...

Interestingly, the same thing went through my mind when I built the Aquarius twins. I had to cut Andromeda’s head completely off to make them and I gotta say it looked really weird.@137th Gebirg: You have to add a new lineart: the convertible Andromeda
I also had to overscale the Ginga bridge module a little bit because it appeared so relatively small sitting on the larger Andromeda frame. Just didn’t look right.
