Huh! So Amaterasu is AAA-06... Very cool. That page will be very useful. Thank you for that.
The first 14 Dreadnought-class battleships in the fleet (seen in episode 5 of Yamato 2202):
D-01 Dreadnought
D-02 Devastation
D-03 Duncan
D-04 Dominion
D-05 Diadem
D-06 Drake
D-07 Devonshire
D-08 Dartmouth
D-09 Diana
D-10 Danae
D-11 Dido
D-12 Doris
D-13 Dublin
D-14 Diamond
.
The official names of the Gamdromedas were very disappointing to me. L'Andromède, seriously? Gamilon takes after German influences, not French. And Andromeda would have a very different name in proper Gamilon.I'm just kind of curious why there are so many like-named vessels in the 2202 fleet. There's not much difference between Andromeda and L'Andromède. And then there are the two nearly-identical battleships named Aquarius (one ostensibly experimental), all ships of the AAA line. It really is quite confusing and has caused me some heartburn when compiling these designs.
I don't think these are designed by Kobayashi. We don't yet know their designers however. So I decided to go ahead and build side views for the Amaterasu and L'Andromède, considering they're at least available and really interesting designs that evolve beyond the other various 2202 kitbashes. I will update them with other views as they start appearing.

I did credit him for the Aquarius twins, but I'm not 100% certain - possibly in error. I only made that assertion based on its heavy kitbash influence with the other Andromedas.I don't think these are designed by Kobayashi. We don't yet know their designers however.
Also, all the Earth ships in 2199/2202 in general barring the Andromeda carriers were designed by Junichiro Tamamori. So crediting Kobayashi for them isn't accurate.
Kobayashi just posts the production design shit on his Twitter. Junichiro Tamamori is specifically credited as designing the EDF ships.Finding high-resolution ortho images of these ships has been exceptionally challenging. Kobayashi's ZZZ-01 Andromeda refit became the main template for all the Andromeda-line pics I posted here:

I stripped the colors, re-colorizing them and, in the case of the carriers, adding pieces from photos of the Bandai carrier kits to the renders. Here is a breakdown of my process. Something I've been meaning to post here since I started this effort:

As for the other ships, it is true I cannot speak to the newer Gamilon Andromeda variant or Amaterasu specifically yet (there isn't enough information), but I'm pretty sure the Dreadnaughts:

the Ginga/Musashi:

the Kearsarge:

indeed, most of the UNCF fleet was designed by Kobayashi:

To which vessels would you attribute Tamamori?
As more information comes available, I will definitely change credit for the Amaterasu and L'Andromede. I just picked Kobayashi since he did pretty much all the other designs.![]()
Interestingly, the same thing went through my mind when I built the Aquarius twins. I had to cut Andromeda’s head completely off to make them and I gotta say it looked really weird.@137th Gebirg: You have to add a new lineart: the convertible Andromeda![]()
Did you watch the episode #21?Interestingly, the same thing went through my mind when I built the Aquarius twins. I had to cut Andromeda’s head completely off to make them and I gotta say it looked really weird.
