"CIVILIZATION" falls. Archer makes first contact for the first time with an alien civilization (meaning he never made first contact before). And for once doesn't do anything wrong or morally disputable (like withholding a cure from dying people for example) and that is truly remarkable!

I'm transporting DAEDELUS out of there
We see the inventor of the transporter appear after never being mentioned before, and after the episode, he's never mentioned again.

"THE CROSSING" is crossed off. First encounter with energy beings. Seems the one that inhabits for a while Reed's body is even more obnoxious with women than he is, which is truly remarkable. Which by the way is a feeling shared by T'Pol who thinks that Reed is drunk and not that he's possessed by an alien entity.

I will pick the FIGHT OR FLIGHT. I have to say for me it is a rather mehh episode:
-I find overacting of Linda Park at the communication scene with the alien a little bit disturbing. Maybe it is decision of director, I do not know.
-Lazy writing moments like alien language having some Latin words (e.g. Ventil) or bringing Hoshi's worm like pet creature to another planet ( biological invasion/introduced species is a known problem since beginning of 1900's, a science ship officer and the doctor would not do it).
-Archer did not care what T'Pol told him and ignore her experience what he would do it again again.
Nevertheless, after pilot we see for the first time what ENT wants to tell us: how it looked like without Prime Directive and protecting Federation at the deep space. Archer has human ethic conflicts, crew try to get in to their roles, their mission won't be an average expedition and it is dangerous out there.

"THE SEVENTH" is eighty-sixed. As we learn later in the episode, T'Pol has been traumatized by one of her assignments because she had to kill someone. She thence had to go through a ritual of memory erasing. The sensitive Vulcans (Ent Vulcans are genuine assholes) think nothing of forcing her to reopen that old wound that she so painfully closed decades before. There's some character development for T'Pol. The whining modified Vulcan turns out to be a liar and a crook in addition to trafficking in illegal (fluorescent) substances. All's well that ends well!

Took out TWO DAYS AND TWO NIGHTS purely because we saw first evidence of inter species sex, long before Trip and T'pol got jiggy.
Step forward Hoshi, who found herself a strange dude in a coffee shop and spent the night with him.
All the while, Trip and Malcolm couldn't score in a brothel, for Space Sailors, that's pretty unique.

KIR'SHARA has too many unique moments and too many references to old episodes or TOS era. I won't count them all, think about T'Pols Pa'nar Syndrom or marriage, releasing of Surak's katra from Archer, Archer's Vulcan nerve pinch, Soval's and Shran's interaction after Cease Fire, beautiful Vulcan calligraphy etc.. But if we did not have all of them, only this scene would be enough for call Kir'shara as unique, watch out to acting Captain Tucker's southern accent :

"COLD FRONT" is back (to black). First time we see Daniels a guy from the 31st century with a collection of gadgets and widgets. He dies... sort of... or as Daniels says about Earth... that depends on how you define death... Silly Silik gets unenhanced!

"UNITED" has been disbanded. With one antenna seared off, we have never before seen an Andorian with only one antenna.

"JUDGMENT" is sentenced to removal from the list. Archer who's done so much for the Klingon Empire (prevented a civil war!! Saved a ship from being crushed!!) is sentenced to life in a terrible penal colony (the notorious Rura Penthe) for what amounts to a random act of kindness, fortunately breaking him out is stupidly easy. You just walk away! :guffaw:

CEASE FIRE would not hold for a very long time, as we know. Episode marks the first time Vulcan's need for human touch for a delicate issue and the start of Archer's carrier as peacemaker.
(Great additions of episode: Amazing cameos of Suzie Plakson and Christopher Shea. Grandiose Trip at the captains chair. Soval's disagreement of T'Pol's choices. )

"THE SHIPMENT" is delivered. Archer convinces one of the Xindy, an arboreal, to join his cause, he does so against the advice of Hayes who's the shoot first and argue later kind. It's the first time that a Xindy is persuaded to come round. Trip's attempt to find the secret of a Xindi weapon nearly destroys the Enterprise... which is less of a surprise. :rommie:

I will pick the SHADOWS OF P'JEM. I have still my problems to understand why T'Pol joined the crew at the end of Broken Bow. No one was kind to her, showed little respect, even Hoshi was aggressive to her. Well, she did it. She showed her loyalty and respect to her captain more than one occasions, acted as best science officer that NX-01 can get, jeopardized her carrier and future at Vulcan society. What did she get for all those efforts? She was mostly isolated from crew and her advises are often ignored . Now, ca. half year later we hear from the first time how Archer feel about her: He called her "MY science officer" (well, also pain in the ass) and fight for her and her reputation and not (only) for egoistic reasons.
Then we have famous/ infamous "bonded and got face full" scene.. It was not erotic, it was not funny, it was :censored: to me. I do not know, perhaps a favorite scene for some other people.

"THE EXPANSE" dwindles away. This episode is remarkable because even though it's a second season episode, it's actually the first episode of the Xindi arc. It has some novelty in it that makes us want to see more. Plus a lot happens in that single episode, the massacre of seven million people on Earth, the Klingons (incarnated by Duras) try to get Archer and fail, Duras dies as a result. We learn that the Vulcans are afraid of the expanse and basically forbid T'Pol to go there, she decides to resign her commission to follow Archer and his crew in his quest. In the end, Enterprise is flying away toward the mysterious place that future guy told Archer was the source of Earth's problems.
