Why is Worf a bad Dad?

I think he was overwhelmed suddenly having a sort of mouthy child.
I think
If had seen at least some of Alexander while the boy was growing up, it wouldn't have been so bad for him.
I don't think sending him to his relatives was all that bad nor boarding school either.
There are much worse things he might have done.
Not in Star Trek of course but the way people on Earth actually are.

Well, we see Worf indulging the kid a few times, like in A Fistful Of Datas where he plays with him in the Holodeck.

Maybe Worf was, on some level, afraid that Alexander might be hurt or killed, given the Enterprise's penchant for going into battle. He lost K'Ehleyr, and doesn't want that to happen again.

And it would have definitely helped if we'd gotten the chance to meet Kurn's daughters and see how Kurn raised them. Like I said, we never really get to see how Klingons who grew up in the Empire raise their kids.

Worf’s and Alexander’s episodes could have been great and showed how they got to know one another. Instead we got the usual, duty, honour, warrior, blah blah trotted out by Worf. I know 8m in the minority but I quite like A Fistful of Datas as it allowed Worf to kick back a bit.

I like it too.

Personally, I think it's one of the funniest episodes of the series.
