The fight choreography in her early Hong Kong films is a level above what I've ever seen elsewhere. I do believe i had the laser disc edition.
She was great in Crouchng Tiger as well. I had actually never seen it, and I finally watched it in the off-season this year.
That was enjoyable ballet. Now imagine the martial arts there on speed and crack cocaine. That was what we got from Hong Kong from the mid-80s to the mid-90s. I would almost kill to see that level of choreography on Trek, any Trek. I mean, what kind of hand-to-hand combat courses do they teach at Star Fleet Academy anyway outside of the ones Kirk attended.

I enjoy come Kirk Fu as much as the next guy, but its the best the Star Trek franchise ever delivered. With CBSAAs budget I think we all deserve at least occasionally something that approaches Hong Kong's golden age level of choreography, as long as their upping the ante on everything else.
So are they retconning the look of the D4s in Enterprise? Were none of the ugly ships used last year actually designated D7? I like that they are trying the right the path, but it still feels clunky.
I thought the fight scene in "Whats Past is Prologue" was better than anything ever featured previously in Star Trek...by about 300%.
While I agree, I think they can do better.

In a world without the Enterprise retcon, this kind of prequel (set earlier of course) could have been a nice way of showing how the human-esque Klingons of the past came to exist, and be respected.
I rather liked it, implying that the holographic communication was a fad that will soon go out of style. It felt good, and normal, seeing old school communication panels like that.
It's more like the ENT explanation. It didn't retcon anything. Worf simply said they don't speak of it with outsiders. It was left deliberately vague and unexplained.

I still think the perfect way to handle it would have been to completely ignore it, and show Dorn as a smoothheaded TOS Klingon during the "past" scenes of Trials....
The D4 wasn’t in ENT.
The ‘D7’ last year was never called that outside of the episode, every other official source called it the ‘Sech’ class. So I’m just going to ignore the computer. That’s the retcon.
