Weren't they originally supposed to be the Borg? Or am I confusing them with someone else?
^^^
That's what I read as well. The reason they 'switched' was that to to the "Bugs" the way they wanted would have required VERY expensive (at the time) CGI - so extra in Pancake makeup and foam rubber "cybernetic armor" were cheaper. :)

Lorca seems to have a thing for her. I still think its possible he has something to do with this whole Red Angel business.

Though, more than likely, whatever she did to Spock gets her kicked out of the family.
Could be, the PU Lorca could still be alive as well.

For me its got Preserver or First Federation written all over it.

Ideally it would be best if they are able to draw a line under it all when they are ready to go forward with more spinoff series like a Pike/Enterprise show, especially as Pike has been so well received, many would also like to see more of Number One, a younger Spock and maybe even a Younger Kirk.

Duras, son of Toral—another example of Klingon names sometimes recurring generationally within a house, as with Colonel Worf in TUC, who was supposed to be Mogh's father (and in all likelihood Kor as well, since it's doubtful the son of Rynar we know is personally the source of Kol-Sha's house name)—tangled with Archer in "Judgment" (ENT) and "The Expanse" (ENT), where he met his demise. His ilk are probably around, although they might not be a major house at this time.

Yes, that's what I mean.

Wrong. Michelle Yeoh doesn't allow her name to get used into fake titles that aren't going to happen to appease a failing franchise. If she's in on this, she wants to be, and she did not come cheap. Crazy Rich Asians made a quarter billion at the box office.

Yep. Her full name and title is Tan Sri Dato' Seri Michelle Yeoh Choo-Kheng, one of only 75 people in the world to have received those titles by the government of Malaysia. She can walk into any studio in Asia and name her price, she absolutely would not be involved in anything she isn't 100% enthusiastic about.

Incidentally I really like that she uses a Malaysian accent on the show, I used to work for a Malaysian company and made a few friends over there, it's a little underrepresented in popular culture.

edit: somehow I didn't notice this thread went on for 65 pages and I'm really, really late to the party

I really, really, really have to re-watch Tomorrow Never Dies at some point. Just for Michelle Yeoh. I'm pretty sure the last time I watched it, Bush was President.

Have you ever watched Royal Warriors? That was my interoduction to Michelle and her performance in that film still has me going, Wow!
