News The CW renews Flash, Arrow, Supergirl, Black Lightning, Legends, Supernatural

Very good news. I have to admit to being a little worried about Legends, as I heard the ratings were down this year, but I'm glad to see all of the DC superhero shows coming back. And Batwoman gets a pilot order and a potential series herself. The year of the Crisis is going to be very full.

Wow... they're never gonna let Supernatural die, are they? There goes my hope of Jarad playing Harry Dresden in the new Dresden Files series.

CW might be the only network I know that will let their shows go on and on and on. Before you know it the entire week will be nothing but DC (Arrowverse) shows.

They're already over halfway there.
I watch the Arrowverse shows, Supernatural, and Leagcies, so I'm happy to see them all coming back. The 100 hasn't started it's season yet, so I'm not surprised it wasn't renewed with the others.

Nope. Death never takes for the Winchesters. They just shake it off.

Also Charmed and Legacies are renewed

Good news for fans of those shows,
I'm going to go ahead and say not much of a surprise given the showrunners teased the "Crisis On Infinite Earths" crossover event <---- And no, I doubt they would have done that without some pretty big assurances of "Yes, you're getting renewed...along with, yes, you can tease that..." -- just saying. ;)

TBH, though I watch all the CW's DCTV shows, the only two I would badly miss are Supergirl and Black Lightning. But as long as these early mass renewals include my two faves, I'm happy. :)

That's what I was thinking. This now gives them months of prep time to work on COIE.

How are the actors on Supernatural not tired of playing their characters?

I've been wondering this with Arrow. I mean Rickards and Ramsey and Amill still want to play the same character all their lives? I guess if you're guaranteed job security, you would want to play that character for a lifetime.

Because if they quit the totem that CW owns that contains the de-aging curse on the actors will be broken and then their true age will be shown. Instead of looking 25 years old for 14 years, people will realize they are 89 year men with no hair and with lots of wear and tear on the ole bodies.

It's official: a show about a brooding dude with a bow and arrow will run longer than every Star Trek series, with all their infinite planets and parallel realities to explore.

(Yes, I know Arrow technically has parallel realities, too. It just very rarely uses them.)

The CW president apparently made some comments today about the plausibility of airing all 6 DC superhero shows at once.

What makes it interesting is that officially there are only five DC superhero shows on CW. This may suggest that Batwoman is likely to be picked up. Hardly surprising, but who else remembers when CW didn't want to become known as the DC channel?

It's possible that he misspoke or lost count. However, I just can't see CW not jumping on the chance to produce some Bat-related content for their DC line.

The Arrowverse shows certainly seem eager to exercise their new freedom to reference Batman characters and elements. Like the random reference in The Flash this week to an alternate-world Mad Hatter (as well as the Red Death, a recently introduced Alternate Evil Speedster Batman in the comics).
