I believe I recall garamet saying here that her screen name came from a young relative who was too young to pronounce "Margaret."

It just scans better with only one "r." And, yes, Gene did name a character after me. (The PROBE debacle resulted in a wonderful friendship until he passed. We even did a "He said/She said" panel at a fan-run con called MaquisGras in Portage, Indiana in 1997. He was a prince. I still miss him.

I'm glad to hear there was no hard feelings. At least something good came out of all that. One of my favorite Star Trek novels was by Gene DeWeese, "Chain of Attack". I couldn't put it down.
