I just finished Star Trek: Prometheus: Fire with Fire. I wasn't certain what to expect from this series when I started it. I mean, I've never read a non-English written Star Trek novel. I'd never heard of the authors. They're not part of the wonderful set of authors that I've grown accustomed to over the past several years. How good will the translation be? All of these thoughts and concerns were rattling away in my head as I started, but I have to say, as I read more and more, all of these thoughts and concerns were quickly laid to rest. Bernd Perplies and Christian Numberg are definitely part of the greater Star Trek literary family family now, as far as I'm concerned. I thoroughly enjoyed this first novel. The translation was spot on and the story was very engaging. Now that I've finished, I'm anxious to read on more of the adventures of the Prometheus and the Bortas and their crews and to learn more of the mystery of the Lembatta Cluster. I'm fairly certain, by the time I finish this trilogy, I'll be chomping at the bit for more tales of the Prometheus.
Thank you to Bernd Perplies and Christian Numberg, the authors of this wonderful series. Thank you to Helga Parmiter for such an excellent translation. Welcome to the Star Trek literary family. I look forward to reading any future novels we're lucky enough to see from you. Now, on to The Root of All Rage.
