After Trek Season 2

Haven't heard anything about this for months. Anything known if we get new episodes for Season 2 and will there be a new host?

I think I read on Reddit a while ago that After Trek is not happening anymore, but I can't remember for sure. Maybe someone on here knows more than me.

Yes, I read that it wasn't coming back, either.

I didn't really catch it much. It leaned heavy on the OMIGOSH early on, and got better, but I found that if I didn't watch it right after an episode and before the next one, I lost interest.

I ended up fast forwarding through just to see the clip for the next episode. Then I even stopped caring about that.

A Trek chat show would seem a cheap way for All Access to fill out their offerings. But best not to copy the format and tone of Talkin' Dead w/ Hardwick. If it were me, I'd hire that John Champion fellow for a Star Yak.

i thought after trek was terrible but the little interstitials with behind the scenes information will be missed.

IDK - I saw snippets from 3 of it's outings and it was WAY more dire than "Talking Dead". Sorry, but I think all these aftershows are just crap. YMMV.

I's rather see them out the money used for 'After Trek' into the productions budgets of the existing and new Trek shows being developed; even if it's only enough to perhaps improve the 'Craft Services' (IE on set food) budget. ;)

Though I found Talking Dead very effective (though sometimes excessive), I never cared for After Trek. Just didn't work as well. I think having more superfans to balance out stars and producers would have helped. The host was a traditional Trekkie, but the stars and producers couldn't keep up. I think to the non die hard fans, he may have come off as too wonky, and to the die hard fans the producers may have come off as less impressive since they didn't get many of the inside jokes and references. Trek is a tough gig.

Plus, I just think Chris Hardwick is a more interesting host.

Glad they cancelled this. I don't think audiences cared enough to have a Trek discussion show following the episode. I'd rather they put their time and effort into the shows themselves than this kind of thing.

Um what. After Trek didn't take anything away from the show's production.

It was a frivolous endeavor on the part of CBS. Unnecessary. I see what they were trying to do, but it doesn't sound like After Trek accomplished anything.
