I hope DSC lasts long enough that they start complaining about how it depicts the TMP Era. ;)

Personally i hope it last longs enough that we look back on it with fondness and as the hey day of 00's trek while bitching about the fourth discovery spinoff 'Star Trek: Wanderer'

Yes, through his new business venture called "Lincoln Enterprises" according to Leonard Nimoy's book "I Am Spock." The IDIC symbol was supposed to be featured more heavily in the episode but Nimoy balked at it.

The Jewelry was created...with no backstory as to what/how it related top Star Trek or Vulcan society. Leonard Nimoy REFUSED to wear it in the scene (as he knew it was just done so GR could sell copies with the "As seen on Star Trek" marketing line.

To placate Mr. Nimoy (and get him to wear the jewelry) IDIC and Spock's comments about it were created written into the scene on set.

I wouldn't say that as years down the road, (and contrary to what people might believe over the air, and cable broadcasting will never fully disappear), the more episodes you have, the easier it is to put in striped syndication somewhere.

Half-sister? I didn’t think that Burnham and Spock shared DNA? (When I think of half-siblings, I think of siblings that either share one mother or father while having different parents as well). I thought they were suppose to be step-brother/sister.

And Pike’s uniform shirt looks like waiters jacket!

^ Burnham and Spock are neither half-siblings or step-siblings; they're foster siblings.

There's a distinct difference between all 3 terms.

Strip syndication money is not what it used to be during Berman Trek era. There are too many old shows competing for that, and comedy series like Seinfeld or Friends seem to have taken permanent hold of some key time slots. So now there is more interest in making money via video on demand and streaming.

Again, I get that - I'm talking a decade or more down the line here. When you outlay on really expensive shows like this, you keep your options open.

It is clear Sarek was a player when it came to human women. I wouldn't be surprised if Spock has a dozen unknown siblings running around the universe.

I watched Lethe last night and wondered again whether the writers consider Sybok canon or not. Personally I'd think it be pretty cool if he could get at least a mention.

If we're going to keep delving into Sarek's dysfunctional family, I don't know how you can avoid mentioning Sybok eventually.

And STAR TREK V exists, therefore it is "canon."

At least one of the season one writers was on record saying they weren't allowed to touch anything from Trek movies because they belonged to Paramount. Others later confirmed she was incorrect, but if the writers don't even know what they can and cannot include it does not bode well for Sybok appearing ever.

Might be different because it’s an object not a person, but the Vulcan Lander from First Contact was in the background in Lathe. So we’ve had a movie only thing in the show already.

    Agreed.
They quote Wrath of Khan (for better or worse) all the freaking time.

This was a botched fact or misunderstanding. It wasn't real.

The design of the flip cover on the Communicator is also lifted directly from Wrath of Khan as well, but that could be classified as a homage/reference since the entire communicator design isn't copied. It's more than 25% different ;)
