That's right, Skip. We don't know what Richmond, Indiana has to do with Cute Bearded Spock and his issues, so we breathlessly speculate. That's sorta the point of fandom zones.

Unless of course, the CBS team threw a dart at a map and chose the town at random. Vaal forbid they would ever be so haphazard. A Stephen J. Cannell would carefully consider what hamlet suffered the fury of the Red Angel, even in archival footage. And if we extend the benefit of the doubt to our CBS friends, then we deep-dive Richmond, Indiana with all the gumption we can muster...

Nice. The original, more elongated Enterprise looks more visually coherent with the flattened Discovery than what they gave us.

That fits amazingly well!

I know I'm completely biased in favour of the 60s design (TOS was my absolute favourite since I was a child), but I think the original connie - because of it's simplicity - actually fits much, much better opposite the also very simple Discovery-design. Better at least than the Disco-Enterprise, which has much more hull detail and greeble than the Discovery herself.
