Things that frustrate us all

I took a big tray of homemade cookies in to work. I saw three different people take a cookie and snap it half, leaving part on the tray. After a few hours, there were still three half-cookies on the tray............

^ As a self confessed germophobe I’m guessing that the people who snapped the cookies in half didn’t want a whole cookie but didn’t want to touch a cookie that evidently had been touched by others either. That is what my motivation would have been anyway. :p

Those are his cones that he takes with them and sets out after he parks so no one parks within two spots of him in either direction.

One must also remember reverse parking is extremely difficult when there are no other cars on either side to help you position correctly. ;)

Two things for me:

Some people can boisterously enter a room and seem to be able to command an immediate audience. I've yet to learn (in practice, anyway) that I'm not one of them.

The second is that while I can recognize and appreciate a lot of humor, I have extreme difficulty conveying it, myself. In my early teens, I came to the realization that pretty much all, if not all comedy is, at its heart, mean-spirited. I, therefore, decided I would essentially become Vulcan and swear off comedy. Nevertheless, I dropped that endeavor and have been trying ever since. My attempts almost always fall flat.

"Humor. It is a difficult concept."

"We learn by doing."

Not this one, sister.

Drivers who ignore the walk light and keep right on going when you're trying to cross the street.

I second this one. Right turn on red means you can go if nobody else has the right of way! It doesn't mean red lights don't count when you're turning right, or that it's okay to park across the crosswalk!

Also the jerks who honk at you when you won't turn on right on red into active busy traffic lanes.

Or more generically, all the jerks who will honk at you or aggressively tailgate you because you're driving safely and it's making them five seconds late.

Why is it suddenly so difficult to find a squeeze bottle that can last an entire run without leaking or the whole top pulling off? The last two I had lasted three years each. Now I've bought *three* of them, and every single one has major problems sealing completely.

I love our Heinz Ketchup anti-leak squeeze bottle tops, but they do make getting the last few tablespoons out difficult.

I have so many driving complaints that I simply cannot list them all here. They all have to do with the selfishness and lack of concern for the safety of anyone else in this world.

I've seen a documentary about cars contributing to making us insane (literally). For example, some people who wouldn't have done it otherwise, commit murder.

Sorry for the double post. There was a glitch that made it appear like the post didn't get through and so I clicked a second time which to my surprise created this second post.

I can believe it.

Much of the same can be said about many, if not all, social media platforms.

I'm carless in the fact that my doctors told me not to drive while my foot is healing. It's frustrating, but probably best for my health (physical and psychological).

Try deadpan. Look up 'Laconic'. That can be a good way to do funny if you're more laid back. And humour can be biting without being cruel, when it exposes a falsehood or lie, look at a lot of humour around the current Prez.

Thank you for your suggestion, but that tends to get me in even more trouble if that's possible. ;)

And while I DO appreciate and laugh at a lot of the Prez memes, it's more in an eye-for-an-eye manner. Deep down, though, it's all mean-spirited, even if it is being sent in kind.

Oh, laugh nowadays, a lot, but I do see the reality of humor. Even purely instrumental musical humor...it implies that a mistake was made and we should ridicule the "offender". I just realized that I could not maintain the Vulcan thing for long.

Pulling up in the right lane, looking to make a right-turn-on-red, and the guy in the big-@$$ truck in the straight (or even left-turn!) lane looks right at me, makes eye contact, and rolls forward thus blocking my view to see if it's safe for my turn. :censored:

Why did he do that? "eye contact" I mean.

How a bout a cup of chocolate and a few cyber-hugs? {{{{{Valkyrie}}}}}
(LOL I seem to be the only one who still uses hug brakets - they used to be so popular around the start of the millennium)
eta: my dictionary says a synonym for millennium is chiliad. That'd explain the chill!
