Official Avengers 4 Anticipation Thread

I actually really loved the Joker's agent of chaos stuff. He did it because he could. I find that more plausible than some of the stupid bullshit background reasons for most villians.

Random nihilism is the sign of a lazy writer and a lazy character.

Of all of the MCU villains, his motivies were up there as the weakest of all.

Just because he was delusional doesn’t mean his motives were weak or implausible. Some of the greatest villains in history had delusional motives. Unless you think it really was a Jewish stab in the back that lost Germany World War I.

NASA screws up:

Hey @Marvel, we heard about Tony Stark. As we know, the first thing you should do is listen in mission control for “@Avengers, we have a problem.” But if he can’t communicate, then we recommend ground teams use all resources to scan the skies for your missing man

He’s light years from Earth. Even if if he’s sufficiently illuminated and our telescopes sufficiently powerful, he won’t be visible from here for years.

In Doctor Strange, The Ancient One was never able to see the future beyond her own death, even with the Time Stone. Yet Strange is apparently able to see the outcome of the Thanos conflict after his own disintegration in the Snap.

Anybody want to take a stab at explaining that apparent contradiction?

Stormbreaker can summon the Bifrost, Thor can hop around the universe a fair bit slower than Thanos, but he still can.

He just needs to get to Tony and bring him home, which is likely what will happen after they tease him suffocating a little.

When did she use the Time Stone? I don't remember her doing that or even mentioning using it. I know she couldn't see past her in death but I never got the impression she was using the Time Stone to do that, just natural abilities. Unless I completely misinterpreted the whole thing, which happens often.

I like the theory that Capt. Marvel will save him better. I think that would be great way to bring her into the present day story, and a quick way for her to earn the remaining Avengers' trust.

We know she can survive in space like Thor, not that she can go FTL on her own. Tony is a good distance out in another star system. I don't mind them all working to save him, but I still think the Bifrost is their main weapon against the Space stone.

We don't know what her status is at the end of her movie either, if she can't got FTL on her own, then maybe she has a ship.
If Fury's call is what brings her back to Earth, then she must have some way to here fairly quick since we know she is going to be in this one, and they don't appear to have jumped to far forward in time.

Well fair enough if she arrives in one of the multitude of tiny FTL capable ships everyone seems to have, and uses that to go get him.

I’m assuming.

We know she had a habit of looking at the future so that she could prevent bad ones. We know she had possession of the Time Stone, and presumably all the skills that Strange has as of IW. Yet she says she has never been able to see past the point of her own death, so I conclude that having the Time Stone didn’t give her that ability.

Or she never used the Time Stone in that way, choosing to use her own powers instead.
