What hotels did you stay at? I was shacked up at the Ibis Styles (located on the edge of the NEC complex, right by the duel carriageway and light industrial units).

At the end of the day we must remember the saying "You can't please everyone all of the time".

It would seem that those of that went who post on here had a good time. Now sure some people who went maybe didn't have a good time for a variety of reasons. But for other people to understand why they experience was different we have to know what happened to them to see how it differed from ours. But I'm quite sure the mods in this instance would rather not delve into them.

Was my first convention and LOVED it. People were so friendly and warm, saying hello all the time. I was a little worried about dressing up so the first day I just wore a bajoran earring and people were still so nice to me. It made me really rethink the preconceptions I had about conventions. I think I might even go back next year, or even to Vegas one day!

I even joined the Destination ST facebook group. Feels like such a nice little community.

I was there, it was REALLY busy. But yes everytime I walked past any Discovery people there seemed to be no queue.

Somewhat ominously, although not at all surprising if you try and look for some humour in it, Jason Isaacs sold exactly 666 standard photoshoots at DST. If the rumours of Pike being a Bible basher in season 2 of STD are correct, then this is rather amusing.

What the hell are you talking about? Like, ever?

People elsewhere have fully understood what I've posted and have found it funny. Now, while I know Americans aren't known for their sense of humour, I can only assume you're not familiar with the Biblical meaning of 666.

From Wikipedia:
In the Textus Receptus manuscripts of the New Testament, the Book of Revelation (13:17–18) cryptically asserts 666 to be "man's number" or "the number of a man" (depending on how the text is translated) associated with the Beast, an antagonistic creature that appears briefly about two-thirds into the apocalyptic vision. Some manuscripts of the original Greek use the symbols χξϛ chi xi stigma (or χξϝ with a digamma), while other manuscripts spell out the number in words.

In modern popular culture, 666 has become one of the most widely recognized symbols for the Antichrist or, alternatively, the devil. The number 666 is purportedly used to invoke Satan. Earnest references to the number occur both among apocalypticist Christian groups and in explicitly anti-Christian subcultures."

Yeah, I know what the 666 thing is. That wasn’t remotely what I was talking about.

You seem to enjoy posting nonsensical crap with no sources to back it up. Let’s see if I can do that too:

Hey everyone, Hillary eats babies to live forever!!!

And you say I have no sense of humor. A pox on you, good sir!

And BTW, I’ve read people’s responses to your posts. Nobody finds you funny.

I'm glad everyone who went had a good time and that it sounds better organised than the 2015 event (which, wasn't perfect, though not to the extent some might have you think). Hopefully it won't coincide with a trip away for me next time.

Okay, for the second year in a row, I'm closing this thread.

Admiral Bear, you can pretty much count on a reply ban to next year's thread.

Glad everyone enjoyed the convention.
