Wednesdays, 10 PM, FX
Starring: Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Cody Fern, Kathy Bates
The new season is almost three quarters of the way to the finish, but I'm surprised there wasn't any thread on this show yet. The story focuses on the survivors of a nuclear holocaust in an underground bunker and the power play between the characters.
After skipping the last three seasons, I started watching again because I knew Jessica Lange would make an appearance, though not as a series regular. And I was thrilled to see her in the latest episode of Apocalypse, which linked the current season to where it all started, Murder House. It was great to see J. Lange, Dylan McDermott, and Connie Britton, as well as the other ghosts of the house where Michael Langdon was born and raised.
As revealed to Madison and Behold by the spirits, Michael was much more than the disturbed son of Tate Langdon, but an unholy incarnation of the darkness that haunted the property. Michael, as we know, is the Antichrist responsible for the death of billions in the future where the story is set.
Paulson, Bates, and Peter's continue to impress me with their performances, often in dual or multiple roles reprising characters from previous seasons.
