Supergirl - Season Four

^ The guys attacking him fell down without him physically touching them. How is that even remotely explainable without him having Meta powers?

That is an odd choice. Although for what it's worth, Cryer also plays Felix Faust in the animated Justice League Action.

I'm not sure how I feel about this.

Neither am I.

For starters, Cryer is much older than Lex should be given the series' own internal chronology.

Second, I've never seen Cryer in a dramatic role, and so I have no benchmark for judging whether or mot he can do the role justice

Well, the thing is: actors act, and the fact an actor is primarily known for comedic roles has turned out to be misleading more than once in terms of their dramatic chops. Hell, Michael Rosenbaum was best known for a sitcom prior to Smallville, and he's the absolute gold standard for Lex.

Just for the record, when I said I didn't know how I felt about this, I mean exactly that: I don't know, one way or the other. The closest I could describe my feeling about this is splunge.

Nothing against Cryer as the actor he is now, but right now I've got Superman IV swirling around in my head. Maybe he'll be great, but I'm having a hard time right now envisioning him as Lex.

He had a dramatic role on a few episodes of NCIS and was good in them. He played a doctor who saved Mark Harmon's character's life and then they became friends and he popped up a few more times afterwards.

I actually saw Jon Cryer in person. His son is attending the university where I work and he showed up for his kid's freshman orientation.
