Native 4k on the XBX, Rockstar right up there with Playground games and Turn 10 when it comes to pushing these machines to the max, amazing.

It's getting stellar reviews - IGN have given it 10/10, they gave GTAV 9/10. I haven't been this excited to play a game for a long time.

4 people for 3 weeks because it was crunch time so the game could hit the release date...
Not that rare...
IIRC this happened with the original as well...

I've just read a very interesting article on the culture at Rockstar, it's frankly quite shocking this article. I actually feel guilty for buying this game today. The level of exploitation that seems present at this company sounds not only genuinely disturbing, but also immoral and illegal. It certainly doesn't seem like it's limited to 'a few writers' to me.

Anyway this is the link:

Haven't played it yet (it just released) but it looks amazing and I hear people calling it the best open world game ever made. I believe it, the prior installment was amazing as well.

Think I may hold off and get a used copy. Feed a different monster (Gamestop).

I tried this out last night, and all I can say is DAMN! is it impressive so far. I remember being super impressed with the water effects in the original Uncharted game, and this game does for snow effects what Uncharted did for water. Walking around outside in a blizzard with my TV sound turned up, looking at the snow effects and hearing the wind gave me chills.

Just done the first four hours and all I can say is wow. I didn't think this was possible but it actually feels like a generation on from GTAV, even the PS4 remaster. This is hands down the most gorgeous, realistic game I've seen and I've barely scratched the surface of it.

Yep, enjoying the first couple of hours...
It's not for everyone though...
Slower paced than lots of other games, but i like it...
The only small complaint i have right now is that hair looks a bit meh compared to other games...

Yeah I noticed the hair doesn't look all that great. The rest of the graphics look absolutely stunning though, rockstar games just seem to get the lighting sooo right, they really get how to make places just so lush and atmospheric.

I'm quite enjoying the slower pace to GTA too, I think it adds substance to the game, if it was just non stop action it would seem shallow somehow. This kind of approach works for GTA but not this. I'm really enjoying just drinking in the visuals and immersing myself in this world. I want to be here as long as possible, why rush it?

Bought it last night at Walmart, but I won't be getting to it right away. Fallout 4 has my attention at the moment, but it will be my next game.

As for the hair, I've noticed that from some videos I've seen. It's like their hair hasn't evolved much from GTA5 or even 4, for that matter. Always seems to be matted on. It's likely a compromise due to the hair growth. GTA 5 even had a bit of hair growth going on.

Yeah, it definitely sounds like the whole "it was just four writers, because they were that determined to make it good" thing was bullshit.

Enjoying it a lot. Haven't killed any Pilgrims or Indians yet but I'm sure that's coming.

Yeah I'm at 22% and I've not come across any desert yet, but a lot of other landscape. I'm taking my time exploring and doing side quests, hunting etc at the moment, I don't want to spunk the main story missions, they're not going anywhere. I'm going to be on this for months.

I don’t like going to places I shouldn’t be at the time. I like to visit it when the levels catch up.
Not really a fan of hunting but I do like fishing. Shame it’s only bait and there’s no fly.

I've unlocked probably 80%+ of the map just riding around trying to get a feel for it all. I felt like I knew GTAV's map really well quite quickly but this is going to take some learning. How do you go fishing? I've heard it's via a mission but I've not come across that yet.
