In my 8th grade year (this was circa 1976-77) - we had a substitute Asian teacher (fairly young, in his late 20ies/early 30ies) that honestly couldn't speak English well at all , who was subbing for a regular teacher on sabbatical for the entire semester; and he would really get upset when students would ask him to repeat something (because we couldn't understand him) and he thought he spoke great English. We drove a 5th grade substitute teacher to snap and start cussing us out.
Anyway, (and yes, we little teenaged bastards all planned this beforehand) on the final day of the semester just before summer vacation, when the ending bell rang, we all turned over our desks and ran out of the room - and he wasn't able to actually catch any of us as we ran.
Funny thing was, no one in that class was either brought in to the Administration office, or spoken to in any way later, so either he didn't report it (because they had all our names on the Roll of course); or the Local Administration didn't want to deal with it further.
