Spoilers Season 2 Trailer

I think the Iconian fan theories belong in the same bucket as "Discovery was built by the Klingons" theories that were circulating after the very first teaser trailer.
Probably.

I never really cared for them. Contagion was a fun episode, but they should have remained a one-off. And the stuff in STO is my least favorite part of the game. Some of the missions have fun mechanics, but the story is pretty dumb.

I could be wrong...after all, I'm the guy who said there was NO WAY Lorca would be from the MU, and I also said DSC would never touch Section 31....so I'm pretty frigging clueless admittedly.

It's amazing that with Pike, Number One, Spock, mysterious signals and creatures appearing across the galaxy, Saru and Burnham developments, exciting expeditions through asteroid fields, disabled starships, Stamets extracting something from Tilley, cool environmental suits, etc...our deepest discussions have been about hair and beards.

I mean no joke.....what the hell are we going on about??

Facial hair. You know, the important stuff.

Well of their intent is to dip into the well of canon obscura, then Iconions are the most likely thing they'll pull out, especially if anyone knows anything at all about the game (since they were the prevailing topic of gameplay for several years); I just like to think they're doing something new.

Set designs look awesome. Best, most inspired production design in the Star Trek franchise since the TOS films.
If you say so. I just expect from a show that boasts about having a high budget for something more interesting.

I doubt they would use anything from the game.
Also keep in mind that at this time, Iconians are just a legend. They still haven’t found their planet.
If it was then it would create a large continuity blunder. Unless they don’t know their true names like Enterprise with the Ferengi and Borg.

It's extremely interesting. Every set and prop is filled with gorgeous detail and looks fantastic. I couldn't be any more happy with the look...here's to many more years of it!

Isn't interesting rather subjective? Besides, I like the TOS sets and the TNG sets and all but I'd hardly describe them as "interesting" to look at. TOS is memorable for the characters, not because the doors are red.

They had more character to them. They didn’t look like they came from a generic sci fi property.

They were very influenced by the times they were made. TOS has a very mid Century modern feel. Something it shares with Forbidden Planet and even 2001.

Now I know Star Trek Online isn’t canon but didn’t they say there there were only seven Iconians around? Could these red angels be them?

There were 11 remaining Iconians in the STO Iconian storyline to start.

There were only 3 directly involved in the major Iconian War on the Alpha and Beta Quadrants ( M'Tara, T'Ket, L'Miren); and ultimately M'Tara is killed, which sends T'Ket over the edge; and ultimately the Federation makes peace with L'Miren and the remaining Iconians, but T'Ket can't forgive and vows to continue the fight alone (IE that's how they explain that you still continue encounter 'hostile' Iconian forces in some mission content. ;)
