Scribble's scribbles

Eh, at least I'm having fun.

Thank you!

Please check the renders again, if you don't mind. I've updated a couple of them and added a photo of my old kitbash.

I just realized how inaccurate that old AMT Enterprise is.
Yeah that is epic! AMT ENT is not good...it was okay at the time and I have a lot of great memories, but it is not good by today's standards. I wanted to ask you why did you have a brace in between the pylons, as opposed to having the bar connect to the angle of the pylons where they go upward? Oh and the bridge.

Yup, totally get what you're saying, but for some reason the way I have it sits better with me, as counterintuitive as it sounds.

As for the bridge, this refit is between the time of the original series and TMP and technologies are changing, albeit not quite where they are in TMP. The idea of docking ports came about right around the time that the Phoenix went in for its drastic refit (upgraded to two nacelles rather than the single nacelle of the Hermes-Class). I have more ideas, but I do not want to give everything away before I actually model them.

The bar, BTW, is a sensor bar, and not necessarily structural. My initial idea for this ship in the late 80s did not include it, but I was doodling in some English class in high school one day and it just kind of appeared.

I've also elected to shape the back of decks 2 & 3 a little more like the Franz Joseph illustrations rather than the narrow, almost point of the TOS Connie. Not quite as the fore is not bulging, as well, but the aft has a much more gradual curve all the way around.

My high school doodles in the late 80s/early 90s:

Even back then I had "first to use" on the hatches (if you can read my scribbles).

Yeah, Very cool! I like the "sensor bar" concept. I was just curious is all :)

:)

nice work

Thank you.

14 hours of sleep later...

An idea just popped into my head that would lead this along the path of being in the lineage of another famous ship that we're all aware of and probably not the ship you're thinking. And a comment on FB crystalized another idea I have that has to do with the hard upward turn of the pylons.

...And hell, Voyager's struts pivot!

Anyway, as in my rough sketch all those years ago, this is where the shuttle bay will be located.

This is only a placeholder. I will be modeling it properly tomorrow.

This is coming along wonderfully! There is obviously some in-universe reason for bent pylons because so many starships have them (the degree of "bend" differs, though). The Constitution-class is the only one I can think of off the top of my head which doesn't have bent pylons.

What that would be, I have no idea but 14-year-old me came up with this configuration.

There will be further additions, as well as details added (the nacelles are simply lathed contours right with no added details right now).

Thank you. I'm about to rebuild that part in a moment, as well. I just wanted a proof-of-concept before creating the final part. I think I'm liking what I see on it, as well.
