If 4 Klingon ships attacked a starbase and, if a lone Federation starship engaged them, knowing it was probably suicide and the Federation ship ended up ramming and destroying 2 of the Klingon ships would the Klingons consider that honorable, and the crew of the ship worthy foes?

I would certainly think so. They died gloriously in battle -- not out of nowhere (T'Kuvma's example notwithstanding), but in battle -- and so were worthy foes.

So, basically, Yesterday's Enterprise where the Enterprise C stood alone and outnumbered against superior Romulan forces. The Klingons felt it was so honorable that it solidified Klingon /Federation relations.

In contrast not standing against the Romulans resulted in a devastating war between the Klingons and Federation.

Yes. The Klingons would go to the Black Fleet, where they would fight the battle with the hated Federazhon over and over again. They would kill the enemy a thousand times, laughing, and perhaps be killed a thousand times in turn.

At least, that's the attitude of the Ford style Klingons.

Klingon honor is a crock of shit, for the most part. To them, honor is something they (and maybe their allies) have and their enemies do not. This allows them to dehumanize (de-Klingonize?) their enemies and justify the attrocities they commit.

In this scenario, the Federation is the enemy, therefore by definition they have no honor.

Not always true, Klingons respected the honor of the Ent C and often say people ‘fought with honor’ after killing them.

I agree that honor is more a political slogan for most Klingons than something they actively live by, Worf notwithstanding. But it’s also a powerful motivating force for them.

Whether they’d apply it to a kamikaze move, probably not. They didn’t fight honorably to the last man then die honorably in defeat, they forfeited the battle to run up the death toll.
