Worst and Best Villains...

Discofan

Admiral
Admiral
The three worst villains IMO, are:

1) Shinzon: Seriously, what did he do other than farting around when he had an urgent job to do, IE the destruction of Earth? He needed Picard's blood? Ok, abduct Picard quickly, put him on ice, go to Earth, destroy Earth, destroy Enterprise, get a transfusion from Picard, done!

2) Nero: He wanted Spock to watch... Ok, so why not get a head start with all the other planets of the Federation and leave Vulcan for last for the return of Spock? That would have given him something to do for the 25 years he had to wait... doing nothing!!! Plus he behaves and speaks like a moron!

3) Kruge: He kills a devoted and efficient agent because she's seen the Genesis documents but then he shows it to his two mentally impaired crewmen!!! After another of his idiot crewmen destroys the Grissom. He orders his men to execute a hostage regardless of what they are? Knowledgeable of Genesis or not?
He falls for the simplest of tricks and dies because of his stupidity.

The three best Villains IMO, are:

1) Khan prime.

2) Nu-Khan. Yes, I thought he was quite good though very different from Khan prime.

3) Dukat: A villain with multiple facets!

Seska and Dukat are on my top priority list. I'd like to have seen more of Seska. I didn't like the Winn-Anjohl thing. Dukat was the better villain as Cardassian.
Also great: Weyoun in all his incarnations. Brunt was hilarious as was Iggy Pop as Yelgrun.

Shinzon was meh.... Didn't like the Malons either. And I can't stand Kashyk.

Kashyk is the guy that flirted with Janeway, right?

1. Borg Queen (I’ll admit I might be attributing a lot The Borg in general to this ranking)
2. Khan
3. Gul Dukat
4. Annorax (as you could tell from my name, very underrated)
5. Either Lore or Armus, maybe Weyoun

Not sure about worst. Klaa was probably the weakest film villain

Can I call Q a villain?

He annoys me enough for me to think he is a villain :D
Seska is by far the creepiest, most devious evil person ever. :)

Annorax from "Year of Hell" had such devastating power. He was one of the best villains for the worst he did.

Annorax was at least one of the best Voyager villains. TOS Khan was unforgettable. For me and for Kirk, ha ha ha.

Best:

1. Kelvin Khan - Just wanted to be left alone to chill with his buddies in cryosleep until he got awakened to beef up Section 31's ride. Then decides to blow the shit out of Starfleet to get said buddies back and when his ride gets trashed, he decides to literally ram the Vengeance up Starfleet's ass. Great performance by Benedict Cumberbatch.

2. Admiral Marcus - It'd be interesting to see what Prime Marcus was like, because Marcus was fucked in the head like the best of Starfleet's admirals. He took a hardline stance on the Klingons and tried turning Starfleet into a war machine to get the drop on the Klingons before Earth could suffer at the hands of another villain like Nero with his Narada. Again, a great performance by Peter Weller

Worst:

1. Captain Klaa - Douchebag Klingon captain who flies around shooting space garbage who decides to go after the barely functional Enterprise-A and gets reprimanded by a drunk and his ship commandeered by a Vulcan

Best movie villain:

Khan from STAR TREK II: THE WRATH OF KHAN. There's something to be said about a villain who has a simple need for revenge. Straight to the point. Ricardo Montalban's performance was excellent, and every scene he was in was gold.

Krall from STAR TREK BEYOND. Idris Elba really shines here because he is a villain who you can actually sympathize and understand his motivations. A great villain, performed by an outstanding actor.

Worst movie villain:

Captain Klaa from STAR TREK V: THE FINAL FRONTIER. He seemed to be so generic, to be honest. Nothing really standing out, though it is hard to stand out when the other villain in the same movie is played by Lawrence Luckinbill.

I'll have to think about the series further before I post about them.

I don't know if I would call Sybok a villain, misguided and manipulative, even conceited yes, but in the end, he did the right thing and gave up his life to try to undo what he had done. At the very least he was well-meaning.

Fair point about Sybok, and I agree. However, I was thinking more the ones against our heroes on the Enterprise, so maybe using the term 'villain' was too harsh regarding Sybok. Definitely would classify him as an antagonist, though.

Best TOS Villain: Khan, "SPACE SEED". Just perfect casting choice. And he nearly succeeded... if McGivers hadn't let Kirk out of that chamber, we would likely be seeing Augments risibg again.

Worst TOS villain: Lt. Cmdr. Ben Finney, "COURT MARTIAL". He was basically a disgruntled worker who got passed over on a promotion. Pretty weak character, to be honest.

Best TNG villain: the Borg, "Q Who" and "The Best of Both Worlds" two-parter. They were truly terrifying in this trilogy, and damn near unstoppable. They started to decline in threat level after these episodes, but were pretty terrifying in FIRST CONTACT.

Worst TNG villain: I think I will have to say Ronin from "Sub Rosa". I mean, everyone has a type they are attracted to. But this guy was just TOO specific. Joking aside, I just wasn't really engaged by him.

Best DS9 villain: probably a tie between Dukat and Weyoun. Both characters were so nuanced and were wonderfully cast. Every scene with them, particularly when together, was a joy to watch.

Worst DS9 villain: Rao Vantika, "THE PASSENGER". I get what they were going for, and it was a good premise, but the execution just didn't work for me.

Best VGR villain: Seska. She was clever, and was a major thorn in Chakotay's side. She had to be gone eventually, but I do wish we got one more season recurring with her.

Worst VGR villain: Taresians, "FAVORITE SON". Terrible... just terrible.

Best ENT villain: a tie between Commander Dolim, Xindi Reptilian leader and Malik, Augments trilogy. Scott MacDonald was a great casting choice, ans he was quite intimidating and threatening. Malik... another well done choice with Alec Newman. That guy was not to be messed with.

Worst ENT villain: Duras. He has got to be the most inept Klingon captain ever.

Kashyk is the guy that flirted with Janeway, right?
Am I permitted to call something non-living to be a villain? If yes, the doomsday machine. The unremitting, passionless violence scared me as a kid.

Ardra would be my pick for worst. She was a little too much of a stylized huckster for my taste.
