Then I don't see the point in watching a movie that will feature SHIELD agents, but won't feature any of the main SHIELD characters.

Weren't there SHIELD agents in Age of Ultron? On the Helicarrier when Nick Fury & Maria Hill showed up? Pretty sure none of them were Coulson, Fitz, Simmons, Daisy etc.

But ok, cool, don't watch it then. Problem solved :techman:

I'm seriously considering doing going for a number of films. September 2 is especially tempting to do an all day viewing.

Grain of salt time. Marvel Studios is considering a Captain Britain and Black Knight movie directed by Guy Ritchie? If I recall correctly, there's at least one unabashed Black Knight fan on these boards. Captain Britain's always been a bit of a dick, going back to his days as an emotionaly abusive and alcoholic boyfriend back in Excalibur.

On one hand, this seems like an almost Sony Studios level grasping at straws for characters to adapt. On the other hand, Marvel Studios hasn't let me down and I had similar doubts about Guardians of the Galaxy.

How does Sony have the Black Knight and Captain Britain? Black Knight II was an Giant-Man villain and Black Knight III was introduced in the Avengers. Black Knight I was a pre-Marvel adventure character.
The only connection to Spider-Man Captain Britain has is his first American appearance was in Marvel Team Up.
Marvel movie rights are weird.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to infer that these were Sony characters. If they were, I would have posted that in the Sony thread. I was just saying that the grasping at straws involved with giving these characters a movie seems like the kind of move Sony would make (Nightwatch? Morbius?). This would be an MCU movie from beginning to end.

Well, since they have the X-Men that means they can introduce Psylocke in the Captain Britain film seeing how she's his twin sister. Of course, this might cause problems since introducing her as a British woman after Apocalypse showed her as part-Asian would be seen as "whitewashing" when it's really not...

That's a good point. While they don't have the X-Men right at this moment, by the time this movie gets around to being made I'm sure the FOX deal will have been finalized.

Those aren't two characters that I would expected to see get a movie, but I'm a big fan of Guy Ritchie, so I'd be up for it.

Sorry if this has been mentioned previously: just watched infinity war the other day for the first time.

I thought it telling and intriguing that, when Dr Strange is running through (trance like) all timelines, to see which one results in them defeating Thanos, he only finds 1 timeline out of millions / billions(?) in which they succeed.

Dr Strange afterwards, saves Tony’s life from Thanos, in exchange for the green gem - which is interesting, as up until that point, Strange would have pretty much sacrificed anyone, just to have ensured Thanos did not get his hands on the green gem - however, he then hands it over to Thanos, when Tony is about to be killed.

This abrupt change in Dr Strange’s behavour / strategy suggests to me that, when reviewing timelines / realities, Strange saw that Tony was alive in the only reality in which the defeated Thanos.

In other words, the only option was for him to have handed over the gem to Thanos - as if he didn’t, Tony would have been killed, and the ‘winning’ reality would not eventuate (if that makes sense).

So he saw that Tony survives in the X1 reality that has any chance at defeating Thanos - without Tony, it’s another reality in which they do not win.

I love Black Knight! It'd be great to see him get in a movie.

I would really like to see a lot more of the international Marvel heroes, Captain Britain included. I'd really like to see Hauptman Deuchland in a movie! Spitfire is another character from England I like.

Plus, on the villain side, we didn't get Kang or a Masters of Evil yet.
