Use to have bedroom door that wouldn't close fully (frame had warped) and in the middle of the night I'd hear it open to the sound of loud purring just before a big lump of cat jumped up on my bed.

The family cats never seemed too interested in toilet roll. Next doors cat seems to love the netting we have over the lawn at the moment and just stretching out under it though.
