Supergirl - Season Four

^ Pretty sure TREK_GOD_1 wasn't really advocating that ....
I wonder when the "Benoist should be in the Supergirl movie" / "the movie should be like the TV show" fan campaign will kick off...
As much as I like the show and love Benoist as Kara, I wouldn't want this. The Arrowverse and the DCEU are firmly established as their own separate things at this point, and I look forward to an alternate take on Supergirl. The more the merrier.

I don't think any of the shows are popular enough to warrant a movie. It's same issue with the Netflix Marvel shows. Some cameo's would be nice though and I think the actor who plays "The Punisher" is a big enough name for maybe a extended role. I guess you could say the same for Killgraves,Claire and Kingpen.

I second that nomination!!!

I still think the DC Film Universe would have still worked if they integrated the DC TV Flash and Arrow into the Justice League film. (Way too late now but back then...)

I like Ezra Miller's character and felt he was a good part of the mix but he could have been a different character.

Not really a nomination, but an acknowledgement that the TV series fans will be disappointed knowing the DCEU will never merge a lead performer from the CW shows into the movies as the same character. The are completely different in execution, focus--just about everything. Between DC and Marvel's movie and TV ventures, the only characters (from TV) who would be a great fit for the films is the Punisher above all others. I said it in another thread, but Jon Bernthal's Punisher playing out a Amazing Spider-Man #129-type plot in a future Spider-Man movie (minus the Jackal/clones end of it) would make MCU Spider-Man a full-on serious character dealing with something as brutal and semi-realistic as the espionage / hunt end of The Winter Soldier (the greatest of all MCU films), which is what Spider-Man needs, after the off-in-space antics of Infinity War.

Except Spider-Man has very, very rarely ever actually been a serious character in the comics, so there is no need for him to the serious in the movies. The absolutely last thing I would want at this point is a serious Spider-Man movie, one of the things I like so much about Spider-Man is how fun he is, so I would hate the see the movies lose that.
Just got caught up on the news but Data, Lara Croft and Otisburg, oh my!
This should be a fun season. :techman:
Lara Croft? Camilla Ludington is the only Lara actress I can see the show getting, but I don't remember seeing anything about her, or any of the other Lara's on Supergirl.
Except DC T.V. at least on the CW has had a vibe not unlike the MCU.

And the MCU has a spectrum of vibes (from Serious like Black Panther and Captain America ) to almost silly/comic (Thor, Ant Man Guardians)...but it feels like a solid continuum

DC now feels even MORE of a mess...which is sad because I leaned more DC in collecting comics
Have you see the trailer for Titans?

Are you kidding? The first thing that happened to him was that he got his uncle killed through his hubris. Then there was the time his best friend's father turned out to be a supervillain and threw his girlfriend off a bridge and he snapped her neck in trying to save her. There's a ton of serious drama and tragedy in Spider-Man's life -- it's as much a constant as the witty banter he uses as a coping mechanism for all that endless tragedy.

Rhona Mitra (Mercy Graves) was the first "official Lara Croft model" in 1997-8, which I guess means she posed as the character in publicity campaigns and such.

Sure, bad things have happened to him, but I still tend to think of him as a fun character, rather than someone like the Punisher.

Oh, I wasn't aware of that.[/QUOTE]

Sure, his personality is fun, but his context is often serious. His stories range the gamut from comedy to tragedy, and it's that versatility and depth that make him work so well as a character.

I'm a little disappointed to lose Brent Spiner, but at least they found a great replacement.

The article also gives thrust of the season's story arc and is inspired by the comics albeit one that was originally a Superman story -
Red Son which brings the final scene in context.

I predicted that's where the season finale was going. The source was so dark, that adapting it it could serve as a gutsy cap to the series if its not renewed.

Picard tells a joke, it cuts to Data awkwardly standing “Excellent joke Sir.”
I do not approve of this kind of Data humour. That's how I appreciate comedy!!!

In all seriousness, sometimes I just love to watch comedy, but for some reason I don't laugh, I've cried more than I have laughed on couple of occasions. I've been considering a great invention of mine, an audio track of people laughing playing alongside a TV show, so that people like Data and I know what the proper response is.
