That shuttle looks gorgeous! Where was that photo taken?
Eaglemoss have released several cover images, which usually have the sizes on.http://www.ex-astris-scientia.org/schematics/discovery_federation.htm
EAS is giving lengths for all the Starfleet ships, citing the Starship Collection as the source. But I'm not sure how, most of those ships haven't come out yet, let alone have their information released.
Except the Constitution, which he states is an estimation based on visual evidence
He also made a chat using these sizes

We have been given the official size on the wall charts months ago.Eaglemoss have released several cover images, which usually have the sizes on.
As usual, Bernd is insisting the new Enterprise is smaller than it's meant to be![]()
Besides the Enterprise and the Vulcan shuttle EAS sizes are apparently from Offcial Starship Collection book. However, the sizes drawn from the book do not seem to match the Eaglemoss wall chart. Nimitz class for example is much smaller here.We have been given the official size on the wall charts months ago.
Yes he has, the Enterprise is at least 450m not under 400m.Besides the Enterprise and the Vulcan shuttle EAS sizes are apparently from Offcial Starship Collection book. No, he has not changed the sizes of other ships.Yes he has, the Enterprise is at least 450m not under 400m.
He has downsized the other ships so that he can do the same to the Enterprise as he obviously doesn't like the new larger size, its a bit desperate though.
Its 2009 all over again, not that I am surprised.
Ex Astris Scientia said:As a general rule, Discovery Starfleet ships are much bigger than pre-reboot Prime Universe ships (among many other discrepancies). EAS accepts the sizes given by the Official Starships Collection until further notice.
Cardenas, 505m, Official Starships Collection
DIS Constitution, 385m, estimation based on the supposition that deck heights were increased from 3m to 4m
Crossfield, 750.5m, Official Starships Collection
Engle, 387.7m, Official Starships Collection
Hoover, 356.3m, Official Starships Collection
Magee, 225.5m, Official Starships Collection
Malachowski, 277.3m, Official Starships Collection
Nimitz, 383.3m, Official Starships Collection (although the structure indicates >500m)
Shepard, 505.5m, Official Starships Collection
Walker, 423m, Official Starships Collection
Vulcan cruiser, 35m, screen evidence from DIS: "Lethe"
There were no numbers on that chart. We have been given the official size on the wall charts months ago.

It really sounds like he caresHe's probably like me.. doesn't care what other ships sizes are.. there new
As a general rule, Discovery Starfleet ships are much bigger than pre-reboot Prime Universe ships (among many other discrepancies).
Most Discovery Starfleet ships are bigger than the original Constitution class and than any canon Prime Universe class of the next 50 years. A Discovery ship described here as "mid-sized" (relative to other Discovery designs) would be "huge" by TOS or TOS movie standards.

Doug Drexler scaled up the TOS Enterprise when designing the MSD in that Enterprise episode on the Mirror Universe Defiant. The scale was approaching 480m which is where Discovery's Enterprise sits.
So this is an issue people have had in trying to marry up the internals with the exterior. Not just something new done for Discovery on a whim. Whether or not it is an issue comes down to opinion I guess, as it is a fictional universe, but I am willing to accept it if the scale makes sense, unlike JJ verse's crazy scaling to make it big for the sake of it.
You should really get a kick out of this, then...a hilarious series of tongue-in-cheek memoranda traded amongst the TOS production staff over the course of a few days in May 1966, reproduced in Stephen E. Whitfield and Gene Roddenberry's The Making Of Star Trek (originally published 1968):I rather like the mention of Mr. Spook in that. I wonder what Star Trek would be like if we'd had him instead of Spock![]()
Come now, why would they scale the ships to one size on the show and then give us a different size? The sizes don't really fit with continuity, but they also don't actually fit with the show itself. The ships look a lot smaller on the show.
Compared to what? The ships look a lot smaller on the show.
