star trek discovery uniforms, costumes, and clothing

No neet to get personal.

Some would say that's a bit personal....

I haven't mentioned them.
Do you know what this thread is about? I specifically said that in for a TV show I'd prioritise looks over practicality. I am sure the NASA jumpsuits are perfectly fine for their intended purpose, which, most likely, primarily is not to look great on camera.

So? Threads branch off into all sorts of subtopics.
I'm sure a NASA style jumpsuit used for a TV show or film would be constructed to look good on camera and still retain the real life practicality.

Like the ENT uniforms which started this tangent? I said I don't like them. They're baggy and ugly.

The Ent jumpsuits are the thing that got me interested in seeing the show. Before I saw the first picture of the main cast in uniform, I wasn't too excited about a Trek show that would likely have scaled back tech because it was in the 22nd century rather than 23rd. But when I saw the cast photo in the jumpsuits, I thought they looked very cool.

The jumpsuits looked retro, like they had a foot in the 21st century (which Ent did), while at the same time screaming Star Trek with the traditionally colored piping.

I couldn't wait to see the show after that.

I get what they were going for with the ENT Uniforms but, at the same time...

... I agree with Longinus.

The uniforms do have a NASA-look sort of, but I also think they also have a car mechanic look. Not my thing. I think the Disco Uniforms look sharper.

As someone who works on cars at times, that's why I like them. That being said, I would favor two sets. A one-piece and a two-piece. Sometimes, coveralls don't allow the freedom of movement needed for certain jobs.

Dress uniforms....that can be wide open. I just think that most Trek uniforms are too dressy for everyday use.

These are the new Adidas uniforms that will be issued to Virgin Galactic passengers.
If you're going to pay that much to fly, might as well go in style.
I could see something like this as the operational uniform, equivalent to the TOS coveralls.
