OK this was a very good film and I liked it a lot but couldn't help playing "what if" games long after the movie had ended as to how things might have worked out had luck been on humanities side.

It was a very good movie but yeah what did all you guys think of it? And yeah feel free to nitpick nitpicking is fun.

The birth scene with the monster in the House was one of the tensest scenes I’ve seen in a horror movie.

I know.. I didn't get to see this at the cinema and from what I have read online most audiences really got into this and stayed quiet. I just wish I had seen it in that setting to get the full atmosphere. So did anyone see this on a cinema screen, and if so how was your audience?

I saw it late in the run, so I was alone in the theater. Probably the best way to recreate it is to watch it alone in the dark after everyone else has gone to sleep.

I thought that the movie was ok.
I didn't get the scene where the father let himself get killed, he could just trouw the axe against the barn and stand still.
And why didn't the creature sink in the silo?

That would just be a distraction and they'd quickly go after the truck when they found nothing. Giving them something to eat would keep them busier longer.

I liked the movie. It was pretty tense.

My only question... how did the aliens manage to occupy the Earth and kill most of its population except for a few stragglers... and manage to NOT run into a single person wearing a hearing aid until they met Jim Halpert and his family?

Plot armor protected them from that.

I don't think it was the hearing aid itself, but the repairs that had been done to it. Jim was shown tinkering with it a few times in the movie. I figured that whatever he had done caused it to generate feedback when near the creatures which harmed them.
