The USS Reliant name is hard to read white on white.

Oh HELL yes! Every time I see a new photo of that beauty I drool even more. I would agree with Markonian, though, that the ship name decal needs to be darkened up a bit. Looked better in other photos taken, I'm assuming, under proper studio lighting. Other than that one small anomaly, it's an extremely faithful and worthy replica. Why the sweet-candy-apple-fuck could they not have done this kind of top-shelf treatment with the refit? Oh, well...this makes up for that abomination...mostly. :)

I did wonder about that, but I'm not sure how much interest there would be in those ships which got minimal screen time and played no major role in any memorable episodes. They get maybe a minute of screen time between them.

Even Eaglemoss haven't done that variant yet!

Makes sense, actually. Didn't ever bother me which one they did. What we got was really quite nice, IMO.

Has Ben ever commented on what went so horribly wrong with the E-A? Seems to me that was more of a wide-spread controversy with their clientele than the Kerala/Gagarin non-issue ever was.

So i don't know if it has been mentioned yet but the Aus/NZ supplier has gone into administration and all eaglemoss collections are on hold until they can find a new supplier.

They usually don’t comment on things that go wrong on Twitter, only through official writing. For instance, “NCC-1071-D”.

I’m one that got skunked on the 1701-A (should have looked at the pics closer though) so it does burn me a bit more to see them get the bridge right for this one.

most people i’ve seen online who have the A aren’t thrilled by the inaccuracies but still glad to have the thing. i take it you’re not one of them?

Any more big news from #SDCC2018? It’s been awfully quiet on the starship front except for the Asylum Enterprise-C.

I’m glad to have it since it’s still 95% correct, the bridge dome is just such a big mistake. It is better than nothing.

But if given the opportunity for a do-over, I don’t think I would make the purchase again.

i had buyer's remorse over the XL voyager. everyone seemed to love that model, but it was cartoonish to me and just a fat chunk that didn't stay on its stand. i ended up selling it on eBay.
here's a gallery of images from the eaglemoss booth. all the ships they have on display are ones we'd seen earlier in the week. what is new (to me anyway) are the busts, which are totally not my thing...

i would expect the interesting news to come out of STLV in two weeks.

Thanks for sharing! Only new bits from that gallery is seeing proto-Voyager, Kobayashi Maru, and that proto-Voyager is due in Fall.

Just got my disco bird of prey. I can’t say I loved it in the episodes but I absolutely love it now. I think you can definitely tell it’s Klingon. Looks very ancient, I wish it had been a flagship of some kind as I don’t know how they would have gone from this to the Klingon BOP we all know and love. But whether you agree with the disco Klingons or not, this is a gorgeous model and one which I think would look good in anyone’s collection.

US: Sternbach concept Voyager is up for preorder on the Eaglemoss Webstore. Doesn't give a estimated release date at the moment.

So here in the UK My XL Defiant has arrived. On balance, its great, love it, but there is one little thing and one big thing that's got me feeling a little cheated.

Firstly, it just looks more...toy like. The paint app is different to the standard size and although it still looks crisp and nice...the character of the model feels different on the desk. Its really hard to describe but it sticks out to me.

Secondly, and the thing that annoys me...the deflector/nose on mine is totally loose and just flops about. When paying this kind of money I want decent quality and I'm happy to pay it, so long as we get solid build and no faults.

I'm definitely reaching the end of what I'll buy from Eaglemoss now. Not that there aren't more ships I still want, but the errors and sloppiness have me ready to finally give up. At the price point the XL ships are at, some of these glitches are unacceptable. So I'll look for something else Trek to spend my money on. :)
