    Hey all,

Since it's Con season again I thought I'd start a thread for autographs/pics instead of resurrecting the dormant encounters/memorabilia threads.

I met Doug Jones and Karl Urban this last weekend and got their autographs added to my poster. Jones was even giving selfies for $15 (instead of the $50-$100 most people charge) so I got one too. He was extremely nice, to the point he hugged everybody in line.

Here's the updated poster and new signatures:

Met Dan Day at a local event a couple weeks ago, got a signed Vorcha sketch from him. I hadn't heard of him before so did not have my poster for him to sign. Also bought a used copy of The Fifty Year Mission and was shocked to see it was signed. I tweeted the writers and Ed Gross confirmed the autograph was real. A nice surprise. Gave that seller five stars!

What ever happened to the good old days when actors would sign you their autograph for nothing and be nice to you without getting a lot of money as an incentive? :angryrazz:

You may not have had to pay for them, but you had to walk ten miles uphill both ways in the snow to get them.

Two more autographs on my poster today and I had the entire poster authenticated for $150 (normal price would be $700 so quite the deal) in case an emergency comes up and I or my heirs sell it. Probably my last autographs this year, only four. Not many Trek people in my area this year:(

Marina Sirtis was at ComicCon Germany last weekend and kindly signed my action figure.

Is there a page somewhere where you can get a complete list of all the Star Trek figures released by Playmates! I've read a lot of things that were proposed but possibly never came to light! I didn't know of that figure or the episode it comes from to be honest!

I don't know if they are complete, but the Figurerealm.com lists seem very thorough to me.

That particular figure is Deanna Troi as Durango from "A Fistful of Datas".

Thanks, Kai! The Playmates series were going to release Commissioner Bele from LTBYLB but didn't and I'm sure I've read something about a TNG Klingon set which might have been released featuring K'Mpec but not too sure either way!

I have to say I'm surprised this thread hasn't taken off. I know you nerds have tons of Star Trek stuff you're dying to show off.

Let me see if I can get the ball rolling again.

I've been to tons of conventions, met probably 80% of the series actors. I have lots of pictures and autographs, but this one is probably my best piece (not as good as @wayoung 's picture above):

8 of the 9 Original Series Actors (missed Kelley). All obtained in person.

Me too. With all the posts in the merchandise/meeting actors threads, I thought this was a good idea but it started to seem like a vanity thread for my own autographs. I was half expecting a warning for spam/resurrecting a dead thread with my July additions to it.

And wow, that is an amazing piece.

    Thank you.

Not nearly as cool as yours, though. That's amazing.

I have something similar from LOTR. Big movie poster signed by 49 cast and crew.

    It's my third child.

You have everyone but Deforest though. Because I started so late I'll, at best, only have 4 of the main TOS cast.

When I was in line for Doug Jones this spring someone showed me pics of his posters - he had a poster for each series and regularly went to STLV. They were so full of autographs you could barely make out the poster images. Reminded me of the user in the meeting actors thread with the Generations poster that was completely covered.

I get what you mean by third child. Before I had this one mounted I transported it in poster tubes (big mistake). My wife was holding it at a convention while I hit the head and she had it bent and touching the ground, nearly folded.

    She's never touched it since.

I remember when Tiny Ron was signing postage-stamp-sized pictures of himself (not in character). No charge for the autograph, or the picture.

I remember going to the Lincoln table at conventions, and buying facsimile scripts, at very reasonable prices. And if the writer(s) for a particular episode were present, they'd sign it, no charge.

And I remember getting Pat Tallman's autograph, and getting a laugh out of her with a B5 joke ("How many Vorlons does it take to change a lightbulb? Vorlons don't need lightbulbs; Vorlons could get jobs AS lightbulbs").

As I recall, Chase Masterson and Camille Saviola (and maybe Pat Tallman) shared an autograph table in Pasadena, once.

I also recall DeForest Kelley being too old and too frail to work an autograph table, but autographed copies of his poem, "The Big Bird's Dream," were made available for, as I recall, no more than the price of the booklet.

And I recall Jimmy Doohan working an autograph table in Pasadena, and expressing extreme disgust over "Mr. Scott's Guide to the Enterprise."

A number of musicians I greatly admire have autographed CDs for me. Or in the case of one church organist who had recorded a single CD, because it was sheer dumb luck that I happened to walk into her belated farewell party, and didn't have the CD with me, she autographed a copy of a "filk psalm" that somebody in the choir had written in her honor.

Some years ago, I built a model of a DC-3, which I custom-painted for the "Mrs. Grace L. Ferguson Airline and Storm Door Company" (an airline that only exists in Bob Newhart's imagination), and sent Mr. Newhart a set of pictures, expecting nothing in return. He sent me a very nice letter, grateful that people still remembered that particular stand-up bit.

This is one piece I have that has actual autographs and I wasn't expecting them tbh. I received this through the Star Trek Omaze thing they did before Beyonds release. I imagine one of the last pieces out there with Anton Yelchin's Sig. It has all the bridge crew, though hard to see in this pic.

One of my favorite Newhart bits! Well, that and the one about the submarine coming back from an extended voyage.

Do you pics of the DC-3 you can share? Would love to see it.

BTW, I don't mean to sound bitchy, but there's no tactful way to put this: to those who posted multiple camera-resolution images, do you think maybe you could post thumbnails instead? Some of us are not exactly hip-deep in bandwidth. Besides, did you really want to effectively abandon any hope of enforcing any proprietary interest you might have in the pictures? Because if you post camera-resolution images to the Internet, if there's any way for somebody else to profit from them without your consent or knowledge, and without crediting you, somebody almost certainly will.
