Spoilers The Flash - Season 4

Finally finished this season. And I'm a bit confused about something I might have missed....

Barry comes out of the speedforce, and he writes this weird symbols. Later, we see Nora doing the same in Jitters. Sure, I mean, she's a speedster. SpeedForce thing maybe, I dunno. But, then, in the last or second to last episode, we see 'dumb' Harry writing in the same symbols. Was that just him doing that because he saw them before and it was his brain degrading and him just doodling? Or did he actually write in those symbols? And if he did, how come he was able to?

Did I miss something somewhere that explained that? Or is that one of the set-ups for next season?

It's interlac, which is what the legion of Superheroes and the United Planets speak in the 31st century.

At the culmination of his comics pre-crisis, circa 1985... Barry Allen retires to the 30th century (In our 20th century the Legion lived in the 30th century, but decades later still in the real world, in our 21st century, they live in thee 31st century. The home of the Legion is always a thousand years from now-ish.), which is why that "era' is specific to Flash-Lore.

Ok, did not know that. Not a comicbookreader, I admit ;)

But, how come Harry was using it when his brain was so fried then?

If the Thinker had began rewriting Harry's brain, even just a little bit, then maybe The Thinker invented interlac as a "perfect language" for his perfect world.

Which may mean that whenever we see a future where they are speaking interlac, that means that somewhere between then and now, that The Thinker wins.

Huh. That's actually kinda neat.

On Twitter The Flash Writers Room posted this yesterday.
It was a pleasure having @DannyBilson, co-creator of the FLASH television series from the 90’s, stop by the room today!

No details on why he was visiting. Though its doubtful it was just a social visit. As early as after season 1 John Wesley Shipp mentioned that Bilson and his recently deceased writing partner Paul DeMeo might write an episode of the current show. Perhaps Bilson alone now will do that. He also directed episodes of his series too. So that is another possibility.

I'd love an episode where 90s Flash showed up, even though the actor has already played Barry's dad and Earth-2 Flash. Although they did show him in the Speed Force.

I don't think "even though" is the right choice of words there; if anything, establishing that Henry Allen had a speedster doppelganger with a different name seemed like it was meant to suggest that the '90 Flash could be another doppelganger. Certainly the abundance of Earth-1 doppelgangers of '90 characters/cast members -- Tina McGee, Tony Bellows, Julio Mendez, the Trickster, Prank -- strongly implies that the '90 show is a parallel Earth. (Although there are a few characters that have different actors/interpretations, like Iris West, Captain Cold, and Mirror Master.)

Apparently they thought he is to skinny to be the Flash. I'm just wondering why it took them 4 years to suddenly come to this epiphany.

???? I know that he is drawn with muscles but I have always pictured the Flash as being a guy of Gustin's build rather than bulked up. When you can punch a guy a thousand times a second you don't really need to have a lot of power to each punch.

Aside from those artists who draw every superhero with an over-muscular physique, Barry's been always one of the leaner heroes.

You know, runner's physique.
