Machado, Jones and Britton are all almost certain to be gone in the next few weeks. That'll leave the O's with the star power of ... Chris Davis and Mark Trumbo.

And Trey Mancini! ;)

I hadn't realized Jones and Britton are close to being traded, too. I guess all the focus has been on Machado for obvious reasons.

I'm not sure I've ever seen a team give up so thoroughly as this year's Orioles.

I agree. The White Sox, Reds and Mets are almost as bad, but at least they’re still trying. The Orioles have quit. I like Buck Showalter, but he needs to go. It’s not his fault his roster sucks, but it is his fault they’ve stopped playing hard.

Yeah, Buck is absolutely phoning it in for the final year of his contract and it's evident in his body language. Duquette's deal is up after the season, as well, but I have a sinking feeling that Angelos will retain him, because he fucking loves the guy, for whatever reason.

El Mago does it again.

He still swings at the occasional pitch three feet outside, but I'm glad he's ours.

I'm most impressed by his tag evasion while sliding. I wish more base runners tried to do that instead of just plowing through the catcher (not applicable here, I know, but I'm thinking more broadly).

In other news: Carlos Gomez is :censored:ing nuts.

Braves are likely to have 3 100-hit players before the All-star break for the first time in franchise history. We're a couple of pieces away from burying the Nationals.

Split the first two games of the freeway series. Angles can't hit to save their lives.

We have a leadoff hitter batting .175

Chew on that for a minute.

Manfred has reinstated Jenrry Mejia. Dafuq?

The JDA says that any player can appeal a lifetime ban after a year, but Mejia had to sit out for two because of his prior offenses (I forget the wrinkle in his case; something about getting popped for a diuretic or masking agent while already being out on an existing suspension).

A couple of photos. We had great seats....
