Don't give money to the last Jedi remake projects

There's some crap in there. This takes the cake...

Wow, if that's how fans want Star Wars to go, I think I may be done... with Star Wars fans. Wow. (I hold out hope that this was made to troll the trolls.)

Ok, so let's think about this. If TLJ went EXACTLY how many predicted it would... would you have disliked the movie?

IMO there is nothing wrong with occasional warm blanket of a movie. After all, TFA was one.

I think it would have been an empty feeling. Content, but "Eh?" I think a few months later (a la TFA), some critics would come out of the woodwork. On the other hand, I adored TFA. I just think after your warm blanket, you need some cold reality. TLJ gave us a little of that.

Would you want two in a row though? I enjoy a comfort film as much as the rest, and would probably find things to like about TLJ. But, as much as I don't like ESB, it opened up storytelling possibilities that would not have been considered had that film not been made. Same with TPM and TLJ as well.

Obviously, there are personal preferences for films, but I don't want a comfortable film every single time either.

Like the Force there needs to be a balance.

Edit: Ninja'd and stated better:

I really liked not getting anything that I expected out of TLJ. I came in expecting that I know everything that will happen, and it turned out that I know nothing. That was fun. Having said that, had I gotten everything I expected I'd come out of the theater perfectly happy too. It would probably have been a worse movie, but I'd have been happy.

That's a fair point. But, I don't just want a film to make me happy. I enjoy it too when there is challenge, surprises or even things I would have never thought of. I think seeing a different vision is part of what makes films like Star Wars so special. They are unique worlds that different people engage in different ways.

Every single thing in that collage either runs completely contrary to Canonical fact or else was never going to be part of the Sequel Trilogy's narrative and was just people pulling shit out of their asses in complete ignorance of repeated attempts by the filmmakers to 'lead them by the hand' to what WAS in fact going to be part of the story.

And the sad thing is that I can't tell if someone made it knowing that or NOT knowing that.

I wonder if I should put "'Mary Sue she is not' ~ Yoda about Rey" into my signature...
