Because they were showing something from the future, which shouldn't look outdated in principal.
On the Bird of Prey issue, the Enterprise era Klingon BoP also had the wing pattern (to the tip of the wing), albeit not in red.

It's very very hard for me to imagine that your intent is ANYTHING but to incite irritation with your endless 1-2 sentence posts that have done nothing since October other than put the show and it's writers down.

I know we've had this conversation about a dozen times before, but this forum is not just for people praising the show, so stop minimodding and trying to force it to be.
And before you say Bill is a special case because of the frequency of his complaints, I've seen you do the same thing with other people too, including ones who were fans of the show who were just making an observation or criticism.
If the show is as good as you contend, it probably doesn't need such an overly defensive cheerleading squad. Just enjoy the show on your terms and let others discuss it how they like. The show isn't even on right now, so can we at least save the "why are you even here if you hate it so much?" stuff until it comes back?
