Don't give money to the last Jedi remake projects

This isn't about raising money or even remaking anything. It's yet another group of fans expressing how profoundly shitty The Last Jedi was. The difference this time is that the blame is beginning to focus squarely where it belongs, on Rian Johnson. The only thing they're trying to raise is awareness. And it must be working, they have the guy very publicly nursing his nuts over it.

Right now Star Wars is the Titanic and Episode IX is the iceberg. Everything is riding on a movie that is a sequel to a film that a large enough percentage of the fan base is becoming frighteningly vocal about wishing never existed in the first place.

Some of you may dismiss these stories as just the farts of a small group of disconnected fan babies; I assure you, Disney does not.

Stop. For the love of all that is holy, just Stop.

You’re not going to find anyone who agrees with you here.

And, he didn't even get credit for working the words "Love" and "Holy" into his command. They are each worth 7 points.

Last Jedi is the best Star Wars that isn't part of the original trilogy, it does not need remaking. And among people I've talked to, I've heard more positive reactions than negative. Yes, there are a sizable group of fans who hated it, mostly the reason they give is "THAT IS NOT HOW I SEE LUKE THEREFORE IT IS WRONG AND HAS DONE THE EMOTIONAL EQUIVALENT OF STRANGLED MY BABY TO DEATH IN FRONT OF ME". It's fine if you hate it, but no, if you keep saying over and over that everybody feels the same way, it still will not make it so.

You do realize these movies are not made just for the "fan base," right? They're made for the general public.

I doubt that the average moviegoer is even aware of any of this silliness.

And, honestly, judging from the number of young fans I saw cosplaying as Rey and Kylo at the last convention I went to, most folks seem to be fine with the new flicks.

Calling the "anti-TLJ" crowd "sizeable" is grossly overstating things.

Sizeable stupid would be a better term IMO. I personally find ST Nemesis a disgusting movie that ruined the ending of a crew and it's story that was very important to my childhood but guess what...

I just decide to never watch it again, I suggest those who hate TLJ take a similar course of action and chill out & move the fuck on. The behaviour of some sections of the Star Wars fandom has been nothing short of pathetic.

It's about some people trying to scam money from folks they hope are stupid enough to get confused and worked up over not liking a movie and willing to part with some cash.

That's all.

As much as I wish this were true, it's not.

As noted, these people actually think they can make this project happen.

They're not trying to scam people; they're behaving irrationally and trying to rope others into the same behavior.
