Stewart is 77, I cant see him as a lead. He would probably be an admiral you see every few episodes that give orders to a new ship and captain. I would like to see 'The Enterprise' continue though, if not the 'E' than maybe an new 'F'. Whats exciting about this, is the prospect of star Trek finally moving forward, post Nemesis, and not having to deal with prequels violating canon shit.
Technically, he was portrayed by four different actors. James Sloyan portrayed a future version who called himself K'MTar, that came back to the present to kill his younger self and attempt to prevent a future where Worf had been assassinated by the son of Lursa. He revealed himself as the future Alexander when he was caught in the attempt on the younger Alexander's life. Worf forgave him, and arrangements were made for him to return to the future.
I think Picard could eventually settle into being an admiral though it would be difficult for him, but I like the idea of finally chasing the archaeological dream too.
I like the idea of a TNG style Trek with a mostly new cast, in the post-Bermantrek world, with guest appearances from old characters.
Jonathan Frakes would not be credible anymore as Riker without going through a Mark Hamill like rejuvenation project. Marina Sirtis looks ok, albeit a little "pickled".
I have wondered if she's always lit when she goes to q&a panels.
I think you should go back and read my posts. I absolutely am NOT wanting to squeeze them back into their former careers. I'd love to see an adventure set 25-30 years after "All Good Things" where they've all moved on. Maybe one or two are career officers. Bring them together for an adventure that doesn't require Picard to assume the captaincy of a vessel, Geordi back in engineering, etc... Something along the lines of "Family" meets "STIII" (or dare I say, "Logan"). It's a reunion of characters we love, who have aged as much as we have since we last saw them, and we get a glimpse of their current lives.
But no, I'm not looking for Season 8 of TNG. We already had that -- it was called "Ovrille" (and I loved it for exactly that reason).
He looks like Will Riker 25 years after "All Good Things". Jeez, what do you expect yourself to look like after that length of time? Hint: it won't be what you looked liked 25 years earlier. As for Sirtis: maybe Troi is having a crisis, Life slams you hard sometimes.
This is the point: we see these characters after real time passage. Not 2.5 years, not 7 years, not 15 years. Where are they now?

Yeah, I'm picturing a series full of Wesleys and The First Duty-ish episodes (which wasn't a terrible episode, just can't imagine an entire show dedicated to it).
I can see a miniseries that brings the crew back together. I assume they all have moved on with their lives. Some major event forces them to get back together etc. Bring some of the DS9 and Voyager crew back into it. Something like All Good Things would be nice to see. Have Q in it too. He looks old because he does not want to make Picard feel self conscious about his age. It has been 25 years since All Good Things was shown. Wasn't that about the time that Picard was going to get sick from that disease? "The trial never ends Picard" according to Q.
Perhaps Picard could become an Admiral rank Prime Directive specialist they consult every now and then about the possible ramifications of interfering with a new species? That way, he wouldn't be in too much, but still be able to give his famous moral lectures
How about Picard fucks up, so he's demoted back to Ensign.
On the new ship, he's aching to tell every one "above him" in rank that they are doing everything wrong.

If Stewart wants to do this I will say this is a lock to happen! For starters we are talking about a show that will most likely be 10 to 13 episodes and Stewart might not even have to be in all of them. They can't back to the prequel setting when you already got one show on in that time and maybe more if the cartoon or Academy etc idea is done. Stewart as Picard will be a big-time drawl. TNG was popular in the day and everyone loves Patrick Stewart.
they do bring Worf back he will look funny in that new Klingon makeup though.
Maybe they can bring Data back in a different body but with Spiner doing the voice. Even though the internet would go crazy but what about a female Android looking body? RIker and Troi can show up for guests shots aboard the TItan or maybe the Enterprise since we don't even know if this show would center around a Enterprise. Crusher can call in from Starfleet Medical and Picard can spend alot of time reading Laforge's books and have him show up as well in some manner. Wesley can return as a God now that he has spent years on those other planes of experiences.

What would the Enterprise look like? What would Worf look like? Would they acknowledge the events of the Countdown (to the 2009 reboot) comic as it was co-written by Alex Kurtzman?
I wasn't the biggest fan of Next Gen overall (although it's best episodes were solid gold), but I'm really curious how they'd approach this. Part of me is even hoping for an X-Files/Twin Peaks straight continuation ignoring the movies and taking place on an unrecognizably reimagined Enterprise-D.

We do at least know what Michael Dorn looks like in the new makeup already as je appeared as one in Discovery
I don't want them to ignore the movies. They made them and thus they are part of canon. I don't like the idea of erasing stuff that has already been on screen, especially "First Contact" which is a good movie. I do think that if they do a Enterprise though it will look more like the D than the E. One fear I do have though is them also erasing DS9 and Voyager as well. Unless they want to go with some alternate timeline but that might not work so well with fans because unlike the Kelvin Universe your using Stewart and not new actors in familiar roles.

E was destroyed (perhaps while stopping the supernova along with Spock), but there's a shiny new F, with Worf captaining it (having tired of ambassadorship). Geordi, like Scotty before him, is happy to stay on as captain of engineering. Picard had retired earlier, but is pulled back on board from his vines to deal with the fallout of the loss of Romulus. Romulan refugee fleet turns up as DS9 wanting to go to the gamma quadrant to start a new life, however the dominion still has closed borders.
A few Federation ships arrive to deal with the problem, including the Enterprise, and Titan under Riker, then we find that the romulans have used their black hole technology to change the wormhole to point to an a new area of space, and they go through through. Probes that are sent don't respond, but a few days later, Neelix manages to send a message through with tales of destruction in the delta quadrant.
Janeway waltzes into town to take control as it's "her" quadrant under threat, but Picard has already led the ships through to stop the Romulans and the wormhole has returned to point to the gamma quadrant. Janeway ends up at quarks bar and gets sold some worthless trinkets. Q and Vash turn up to Picard at the end and say "Jean-Luc, you're too old for this, lets go explore the galaxy together", and vanish.

I think many people keep forgetting the episode "Inheritance". There's a line spoken by Geordi where he states that Juliana's appearance is designed to age, just like Data's. So we already know data is designed to age. And seeing that if he does come back, it's likely in the B4 body, there could even have been further quirks in the design of the body.
Personally, I would hope more for an animated carry on from TNG. Perhaps the new crew of the Enterprise, with perhaps a few familiar characters (Data or Geordi as Captain and perhaps Robin Lefler as first officer).
Picard could be an ambassador who occasionally pops up for some diplomatic mission.
