I hate the divisional system.
I don’t know who will win AL East or AL West but it’s plain absurd that the second place teams have to win a single elimination play in game and Central champs walk straight into the playoffs.
Single elimination games in baseball between two good teams might as well be coin flips.

^It’s very possible that either the Yankees or the Red Sox could win one hundred games but lose in the single-game wild-card round. Honestly, I’d rather see a return to the two-division format, with the two division winners and two WC teams making the post-season. The opening-round matchups can be determined by seeding according team win-loss records.

Not this Mets fan. The problems with the Mets runs so much deeper than the manager. It's a whole system failure, terrible drafting, terrible trades, terrible bench players, terrible hitting, not scoring any runs. It's telling that the best player you have right now is Bautista.

The Mets have long seemed to have a “good enough” attitude with respect to anything their organization has done. It would be nice if their ownership group cared as much about winning as the Steinbrenners do.
From Manfred's own mouth. According to him, MLB is in the early stages and so nothing is imminent, but it intends to take action on shifts.
Considering what he did to the intentional walk and other rule changes, if he wants to, he will.
Manfred needs to end up in the foundation of the next new stadium (or at least the next redone section of Wrigley). Where are the guys who disappeared Hoffa when you need them?

He acts like defensive shifts are some new thing and it's mind-boggling.
If you're a batter and you're pissed off by the shift, either bunt and run like hell, hit a dinger or learn to not be such an extreme pull hitter.
The most frustrating thing about Manfred saying he wants to go after shifts is that he has no grounding for it when put against his oft-stated desires to both increase the pace of play as well as increase offense.
It seems clear that Manfred wants more 10-9, 15-13 high-scoring affairs, because he's of the opinion that fans want to see more runs. Thing is, Rob, that the more runs are scored, the longer games run. A 1-0 pitchers' duel can sometimes run as short as like 2:20. So you're smashing two diametrically opposing concepts together and expecting something magical to come out like the sports is a goddamn Easy-Bake Oven.

Glad for rookie Jonathan Loaisiga's ML debut with the Yankees. He's got good stuff - interesting to see how he develops. Also glad that Didi seems to be snapping out of his slump.
